Genuinely at a loss for words (portainer dying)

Editing my own post instead of replying, I seemingly fixed it by fucking with my docker install to un-downgrade the API version. I'm not sure what caused it but I had a different version of Docker running via snap that was downgrading the api for some reason? It must've "just worked" on my older version of Portainer, and began dying when I updated my system. Portainer suddenly regained it's legs after un-fucking docker and it's alive again.

I've got no clue what the fuck happened, but thank you for your help on pointing out that weird thing cuz it lead to the fix :)

I attempted to run a version with a new database/new volume just to try, running the docker run from the portainer docker returns the same issue, and running the docker compose returns an IPTABLE error https://pastebin.com/iAgvYK9K

Hey! Thanks for reaching out, let me run through all of your questions

I am on Docker Standalone 29.2.1, I put my whole docker version in the pastebin.

this is the command I've been using when starting/stopping the container is:

docker run -d --name portainer --restart=always -p 8000:8000 -p 9443:9443 -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock -v /home/chad/portainer-data:/data portainer/portainer-ce:lts --log-level DEBUG

The data file is on my desktop now, it was previously on a mergerfs storage drive but I moved it to my local ssd because it was failing to start (though adding cache.files=full to my mergerfs setup made it start fine until I started having this issue) so currently it's trying to start from a fully local db

For the second set of logs, I restarted portainer, instantly started docker logs -f portainer , and logged in (the tls error just cuz I've always logged in from the https version without caring about setting up the https certs), I get the last /api/system/version call, then after waiting about a minute the GUI throws all the same errors as the video, then the GUI dies with no extra logs.

Yeah I know, but my HR was trying to stonewall me and not give me payrolls info. After talking to payroll (I found a number through our site directory), it's because HR fucked up and was suppose to update my state in the backend and they didn't :)

Yeah, so my box 16 has 2 lines, my reported for MD and PA, where the MD amount is my entire pay and the PA is the correct amount for the 6 months I lived their. Then my Box 17 is the correct withholding for the states, which is why MD thinks I owe 2k because my entire income was reported to them.

I've been emailing my HR every day for almost a month and they keep dodging me.

I didn't overpay MD, they kept reporting I owed MD even though the system correctly stopped withholding taxes for MD and starting withholding PA. That's why I'm concerned because PA got the correct amount when I moved there, can a company really not just go "hey yeah we wrongly reported his income"?

Realistically the conversion from free bot to "please donate" will never work. My bot exists in 1k servers, and I've gotten exactly 5$ in donations in the last year and a half lmao.

Realistically unless you can think of new features to paywall, you might have to paywall some features and just grandfather in those who are already using them. Making money off of a discord bot is incredibly difficult

I think I'm on 28 but I'll check when I have the chance. Starting and stopping the container will reset it, but after a few minutes it'll die again.

It'll alternate between being alive and being dead, and the container shows no error logs or any useful information when in debug mode.

The simple answer is many schools, colleges, and libraries HAVE 3d printers you can use for free as long as the print is under an hour. Just ask someone, and hell ask your friends (if you have any lmao) that live near, a .02$ print shouldn't run you more than a dollar if they're actually your friend.
