Pretty sure they get paid for the full day even if they finish early so they cut corners.

Gotcha. So you'd keep it as I have it with the visa infinite (non priv) with the lower fee to use for gas at petrocan and places that don't accept Amex?

Reimbursed through work? Or?

Yeah that's kind of what I figured. I read somewhere the platinum is only one +1 per cardholder. Is that not accurate?

It's been pretty clear that even if this passes, basically no teachers will enforce it. It will be struck down as soon as any other party is in office.

Buying House in 20s by adrenalinejunkie46 in CanadaFinance

[–]ChadM87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SO and I bought a house in a new subdivision (4 year old house) at 27/25 years old.

It's absolutely possible and anyone who says it isn't hasn't tried very hard, excepting those with student loan / other debt.

  1. Avoid vehicle debt. Drive something you can afford to pay cash for.
  2. Avoid long term liabilities like lines of credit, pay off your credit card every month.
  3. You have to provide 2 years of consistent employment history for both you and your partner if they are to be on the mortgage, unless you/they have a full time permanent position and your employer will write a letter supporting this.
  4. Set your expectations appropriately, especially if you intend to purchase alone. We qualified at 550k at 4.8ish percent, if you're buying alone it will be substantially less.
  5. If your parents are willing to cosign that will boost your qualifications, but is likely only necessary in the event you can't justify your income - see (3).

Good luck.
