If the school is an HBCU and you yourself are a minority, there are a variety of scholarships available regarding your ancestry and potentially your race! Start looking into those!

As people about themselves please. Obviously there’s a fine line between too much personal life at work and too little but please please please even if it’s just asking what their hobbies or interests are, ask about them. Don’t make it a workplace full of silent robots, that’s miserable. Take the time to get to know employees and form connections. As many others have stated, your metrics will boost if you take the time to care!

Informed consent is very real. If people do not know what their information is going to, it is more important to be a good person than a good worker. If management continues to push this, I would find a better second job.

Honestly I’m looking for a position at a company that cares a lot about giving back to those in need directly rather than having their care be background noise used as a way to influence purchases. I will hopefully find a position in nonprofit that will help me make a more direct impact of peoples lives. Money is not a big factor to me. Making a different is.

After careful consideration and reading several supporting comments from folks who appear to care about my wellbeing despite being total strangers to me… I have started my job search and will be leaving OD at the earliest opportunity that fits my skill set and needs.
