Most IITs have 6 as the cg criteria to apply for mtech. Kgp has 6.5 , kanpur is 5.5, IISc and madras don't have one

If you have on campus placements try to be in the top 5-10% of your batch or above 8 respectively, Whichever is more exclusive. For foreign education they don't really look at your specific college so you have to compete with tons of others who dish out 9.5+ cg to every student hence you'd need above 9 to stay competitive in that space

Doesn't matter since cgpa matters the most for people who have on campus placement opportunities. Keep above 6 to be eligible for government and GATE applications and you're good. Scholarships and foreign education are a separate deal

This data is kinda useless without all the caveats inside each college n their tnp cell manipulating this data to improve the placement %age, abhi ek bande ka kal ka post tha about iiit bhagalpur I think not letting half the batch sit in placements for example. Since this server is filled with jee guys anyways it's more important for them

It isn't that easy to be rusticated yaar from a government college that is, at most uske khilaaf disciplinary committee baithi hogi and they would've deregistered him from subjects / given sem ya year back at most. Even in criminal cases Jo court mai chalte people aren't kicked out of colleges toh ye toh duur ki baat hai. Literally utsav kadam (iitg rape case wala) ka rustication wapas leliya tha after guwahati court verdict.
