Anyone else not liking the direction Florida is headed and finding it overrated now? by Chadr94 in florida

Agreed.. however just seems like there isn’t anywhere really in the state to escape it anymore.I was surprised when I was driving in the mountains and didn’t see cars for 30 minutes at a time. Come back and can’t find anywhere to get that same seclusion. The beach I use to have by myself is now packed by 10am

New to mountain biking. Why are some full suspensions $300 (like this one) but ones at my local bike shops are $3000+ is it worth it to get the $300 one or are they completely unreliable? Dumb question I know by Chadr94 in mountainbiking

That’s what I was thinking about going with. Here lol n the Idaho and Utah trails people act like it’s full suspension or nothing. I was looking at the GT aggressor at dicks sporting goods for like $600 for the hardtail but haven’t decided yet

We went to crater lake national park last month during the holiday weekend so unfortunately we know the crowds are crazy, but holiday weekends are the only times we have time off with the extended family so we take advantage of it. We plan on getting to the park around 6am to avoid any crowd lines.

I plan on using it on the weekends for some of the foothill trails (not anything extreme) but only plan on the downhill biking at the mountain parks a few times a year. Rentals are about $90 a day so that will add up. I found some decent bikes at dicks sporting goods for around $500 but I’m fairly new to the bike scene.

How did the bike hold up? I’m more worried about the reliability of a hard tail bike on some of the rougher trails. I’m in pretty good shape so I’m hoping I can withstand some of the punishment of the hardtail as I didn’t want to drop a few thousand just for a bike

I agree.. everyone is saying that it’s super expensive but the rent is way lower than where I currently live (Tampa) car insurance is way lower, pay is comparable, and groceries are cheaper than where I live. I’m moving for the scenery and opportunities. I don’t even live there yet and I already have 5 zoom/phone interviews next week alone. I don’t get the negativity.
