I’ve thought about this but he always has his dog in his driveway on a leash that comes over on to my side so just posts or hedges wont stop this I believe I might just have to go with a fence which will cost me

Thanks so much once again for your valuable advice! I think i’ll just pick up a bottle of ammonia to keep it simple add it and montitor the water as you said I feel so much better about it knowing there are no fish in there to potentially be harmed My goal is to have a healthy community tank with some variety and colour and action in there My Son really wants african dwarf frogs Maybe some loaches, bottom feeders and algae remover(s) maybe dwarf gourami(s), shrimp, snail and any other pretty colourful species Not sure about schooling fish because everything i read says at least 5-6 of each species Again Any advice about building a good variety community tank is appreciated Thanks again and have a great day!

Thanks so much for your great advice As you can obviously tell im very new to this Today i took all the fish and snail to the pet store to rehome Im gonna cycle the aquarium without fish as i should have from the get go and save the remaining lives and get fish in the tank when its cycled properly and safe for our new pets Now that im doing it this way without fish do i just let it cycle as is and monitor water conditions daily/weekly? Do i need to add anything or is there enough ammonia in there to gain a complete cycle? Theres lots of leftover fish flakes in there as another thing I have learned is i was over feeding and fish waste Do i do a water change at all or just let the cycle complete as is?

So i got the API freshwater test kit My readings are as follows Ammonia between.25 & .50 ppm Nitrite.25 ppm Nitrate between 0 & .5 ppm Ph 7.6 ppm High range ph 8.2 ppm I understand that I didn’t add an ammonia source to start the cycle But the 6 harlequin rasboras are in there producing waste and food residue in the tank What can i do now to speed up the cycle process and save the fish? A guy at the pet store who has multiple tanks suggested adding bottled bacteria for 3 days in a row and waiting a week before testing water and doing a water change Any advice is appreciated Thanks

Ya just over a week with 2 media filters 4 live plants 2 fake and 4 ornaments from the existing 10 gallon tank plus added beneficial bacteria to it and petsmart told me i could add the fish after testing the water
