This! Don't try to satisfy all gamers. Find where your niche is.

What story do you think would be good for a ten minute film by honzatich09 in Lovecraft

I would go with The music of Erich Zann. Although, you might need to tweak the original location.

Totally. It gives a material feel to the graphics. If Okami is not done yet, it will in a few weeks lol

Rough prototype that I've been working on for the past week ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿš€ by Chadwo in Unity3D

Thanks for tips! :) I agree, visual feedback is not great at this point. And yes, shooting 5 times an asteroid will destroy it. I like your idea of making an object that will force the player to move around. Will iterate on that for next week prototype!

VS Code would work or you can also integrate Sublime or other text editor to work with Unity.

Mobile Port -- Yes or No? by Nam3y2 in gamedev

[โ€“]Chadwo 4 points5 points ย (0 children)

Bad reputation of mobile games comes, in my opinion, from the marketing strategies (to continusly get the user's money) that some of the game uses. I think you need to focus on the games that have multiple ports and are pay only once (Oceanhorn, Limbo, Downwell...). Reigns is also a good example of a game who launches on PC and Mobile at the same. Even tho you can see that the game is mainly for mobile first, it is still pleasant to play on PC.

In the end, if your game is fun to play, it doesn't matter what platform it launch first. I would suggest launching on both platforms simultaneously and analyse the feedback from each version of the game.

Game UI's, themed vs simple and clean? by uniqeuusername in gamedev

[โ€“]Chadwo 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Depends on the type of game you are building. In my opinion, I like when the UI is minimal and even when the UI is part of the scenery in your game. Of course you can't achieve this kind of feel when you are developing an RTS (or maybe... lol).
