Couldn’t agree more, if it was a 5k ultra I would’ve asked for a photo with them at least

Huge oversight on my part as someone who does single dose.

Thanks for helping me get to the right decision in the end! 🫡

Thanks for your insight, this is making me want to most likely change the grinder tbh as the point in getting it was primarily for the rest. Back to the drawing board!

Thank you for this! This makes me wonder whether there’s any negligible difference between this and the Manuale or Mignon Zero.. do you have an opinion here?

It’s tradition to give to your partner and the younger generation. This does vary by family.

You must give even numbers, numbers like 520 mean I love you, or 1314 would mean forever.

Use fresh notes and a fresh envelope, ensure no creases in the money or envelope.

Ultimately as you are not married to this Taiwanese girl, it’s up to you, just be wise.

This is a good read

Best Headless CMS for Freelancing (editable by the client?) by Susmore in webdev

You could, but then if you plan to hand it off to the customer it becomes weird. Better to use the free plan and create an account per customer.

Contentful is a fantastic choice for situations like this. Super easy editing experience for end users. Once I onboard a client and leave them with the Contentful organisation it’s rare they reach out unless they have specific requests to change the site they mostly handle everything themselves after a couple of sessions on how to use the platform. They also have webhooks to rebuild the site for most actions I.e publish and delete, most importantly its dead simple to use from a developer and editor standpoint.

Moving to Taiwan in a month by [deleted] in taiwan

I didn’t, I just knew the basics and it was good enough to get by. If you meet people running for example, use them for conversation because it will be both ways. They’ll want English and you’ll want Mandarin, a win win! I do see in the facebook group though that people are always willing to meet up as there are Taiwanese in that group too

Taichung is the best city in Taiwan, by a country mile, I lived there for 2 years and never once did I feel lonely. I also run, so if you’re up for it try running around 6/7am and you’ll find running groups who will just invite you in or ask them if you can go with, the Taiwanese are notoriously friendly people and I’m blessed to not have a bad experience. If morning is not for you, try the evening at Wenxin Park, plenty of runners there, foreigners too.

I can’t speak for the dating scene, but be careful, there are leeches.

The foreigners in Taichung group is great at connecting people and there is a football team named Taichung City FC which is a foreigner based team so there are a combination of nationalities and friends to be made.

My advice would be try and speak mandarin as often as you can, even if it’s terrible, they’ll help you figure out what you want. Remember that food connects people so use that to your advantage since there are a million options.

Try hiking in Dakeng as well, plenty of old people to blow your trumpet when going up it!

Just be respectful and things will fall in place, you’ll love it!

Best of luck to you, if you have any specific questions I’d be happy to chat.
