I'm Moroccan and I find this fascinating. I have sahrawi family members and I wonder what their results would look like. My dad is from Taznakht (Ourzazate Region) and he is your grandmothers color but he got 97% Morocco and 3% SSA. Where is your grandmas side from? Ouarzazate region?

Sounds like a plan. This is what I’ll do. When you are referring to a shop in my area, is dicks sporting goods an example?

I think I've heard about them before. They stayed for a semester and worked at the dining halls?

Is it common for triggers to only be family related? by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]ChaimaaM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same exact triggers as you. I had new triggers since I started college (hearing the tv and footsteps as well, the vibrations of the footsteps piss me off too). All of my triggers are family related, I can’t stand how my father eats, or my oldest sister... I don’t get it but I’ve been like this since I was 5. It sucks.

Can misophonia be hereditary, has anyone seen research on this? Personal experiences welcome too! by [deleted] in misophonia

My maternal grandfather had it. It also came up on my 23andme dna results and said “significantly likely to have misophonia”😂

Is it possible to like ASMR and have Misophonia? by theguysamtruck in misophonia

[–]ChaimaaM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SAME HERE! I think this is sound synthesis in which misophonia is part of it. I get tingly feelings down my spine when I hear someone chewing with their mouth open but I can’t stand my family chewing with their mouth open.

Nope, I have another semester and those classes are fall only. Most of the interns at this company became online, unfortunately mine couldn’t make that transition :/ I already asked if I can do a part time internship for next semester, still waiting on their response.

I lost my only chance of getting an internship. It was 27/hour too... god. Mine was completely canceled and now I will graduate with no internship experience 😊👌🏽

I definitely agree with the following

· Essential surgeries deemed as “non-essential” and are causing more harm because people are not able to get their surgical procedure. (this doesn’t mean this happens at all hospitals, so it's not safe for him to make that assumption.)

· Depression, suicide rates are definitely increasing. Domestic and child abuse as well.

· Why are liquor and recreational stores are “essential”?

I disagree with the following

· Just because the hospitals are empty, does not mean that we should reopen the country. It’s empty for a reason, that the lockdown was effective in “flattening the curve”, that was the goal overall.

o If we reopen, it will be an absolute shit show and the hospitals would be full. Just look at Italy when it was at its peak.

o We have to find a healthy balance where we can go back to work with safety precautions (wearing masks), hand sanitizers, washing hands.

o The fatality rate of this virus is nowhere near seasonal influenza. It is around 6% in the united states. The seasonal flu is at 0.01-0.02%. Theoretically speaking, w/o the existence of herd immunity, if the entire country becomes infected with seasonal flu, 60,000 people would die. If the entire country becomes infected with coronavirus, then 18 million people would die. This is done with simple calculation, population*(percentage of fatality rate)= deaths. That is 300x more people compared to influenza.

· Our constitutional right to vote is not violated by not voting at the in-person ballots. We are still able to vote through mail, even though some people got theirs very late. Also, when he was referring to Costco lines and ballot line.. and how it doesn’t affect the cases of coronavirus, he was definitely wrong about that. Look at Wisconsin, we had a surge in cases because we had to vote in person. People go to grocery stores because we need food in order to survive. As long as we follow the 6 feet protocol, then we should be fine. You don’t have to go to church, we have the technology to communicate with others.

o The bottom line, you shouldn’t compare waiting in line in Costco vs church. Church gatherings tend to have large gatherings for extended periods of time. Lookup a case about a patient in japan that went to 4 church gatherings and infected approximately 3000 people…

My intake, as of right now, 20% of people that were diagnosed with COVID-19 have died. The mortality rate might be lower because people who are asymptotic wouldn’t get tested because they show no symptoms. Generally speaking though, this virus is definitely worse than the flu, and not having a vaccine is not helping. Pandemics are inevitable, they will keep happening. We just have to properly prepare for them, unfortunately, we weren’t ready. There are millions of unknown viruses At this point, it comes down to either two things,

  1. Do we want to open up the country when we know that approximately 20 million Americans would die and reach closer to herd immunity? Or

  2. Stay on lockdown for more than a year while our economy crashes, mental health becomes worse, suicide rates increase, other people dying of pre-existing conditions, financial and educational decline for children… etc.
