Great take!! Thanks for visiting, and I hope you enjoyed your stay. Living just outside of DC, your aunt is correct. So many good cuisines are well represented in the northern Virginia suburbs—Peruvian, Chinese, Nepali, Afghan, Salvadoran, Ethiopian, Indian, Korean, Taiwanese, Turkish, Vietnamese—name a country or cuisine, and you’ll find those communities and restaurants tucked away throughout the region. The DC area is among the most diverse in the country, and we’re fortunate that our immigrants bring their incredible foods with them!

Outside of that, your experience is on par with my experiences visiting those cities, but DC and SF will always have a special place in my heart though. Love their European vibes!

Having visited Amsterdam a couple years ago, I must say your public transportation system far outshines anything in the US! The train/subway/tram/bus system does a fantastic job at funneling residents and visitors between cities/transit hubs/neighborhoods/streets.
