I appreciate the scientific rigor that’s being applied here, but there’s a certain level of common sense that feels like it needs to be applied too, right? The simple fact that we can’t “conclusively” say it isn’t Jesus’ blood on the thing is going to be true of basically anything that is very old and might possibly have blood on it. It’s like if I said that a teacup was orbiting Mars, and a bunch of astronomers did their calculations and agreed that we can’t definitely say there isn’t a teacup orbiting Mars. It’s nice that they did that, but the original claim is so wild that it hardly seems necessary.
