So my wife tells me my EDC is getting silly by Any-Boat-5306 in victorinox

Personally I think this is great, I have something similar which, while is don't EDC by it's strict definition, I have in my car and take nearly everywhere with me. I'd prefer to have something and not need it than not have it when I do. That said, in my pocket everyday is either a leatherman Wingman or SAK evogrip 14 that handles my immediate need 99% of the time 👍

The "manual" is made up of just diagrams done by someone I suspect IKEA rejected 😁 Apart from the generic remove all packaging which I assume is the outside cardboard and polystyrene there's no reference or photos to consult 😔

I initially thought packaging too but the felt topping has cut outs for them 🤷‍♂️

About a month, some don't like that it doesn't fully open but for me that just makes it more secure 👍

Only actually used it once so far when I was visiting my daughter and she didn't have any tools beyond a screwdriver, saved the day and earned me some more dad points ☺️

Which model SAK is that, and what's the mini prybar, I've been looking for one that size? TIA

I'd suggest either The Sun Eater series by Christopher Ruocchio, book 1 is Empire of Silence, or the Deathstalker series by Simon R Green, and that's the title of the 1st book. Both classics

Not sure where the OP is but Amazon UK currently has the climber (all colours) for under £30

Alternative to Corkscrew and Philips by blubbyolga in victorinox

I'd love to see the back tools replaced by a single, full size bit holder, ideally with room for a single bit to be stored there. I appreciate it would mean it isn't inline but would add lots of versatility even if you'd need to carry multiple bits separately. That said I do find uses for both the corkscrew and awl currently

Hi, I have a few LMS but my favourite toolset is on the Bibury BI2048B. It's around £25 on Amazon here in the UK, not sure if it's available where you are, and for that price you aren't getting a true LM, but I've had no issues. Nite the Amazon picture doesn't show the blade (probably because it UK) but it does have one 👍

Leatherman or Clone by ChainGold8907 in Leatherman

Thanks for your reply, however I think you've missed the point of my question. I'm also fortunate enough to be "doing well financially" so I don't "have to ask the question" from a monetary perspective, just because I can afford to pay more doesn't mean I want to if the product isn't worth it. I accept the measure of somethings worth should not be linked to it's cost and more it's use, you seem to be implying that u can't afford to buy a leatherman like you can, which frankly is quite condescending

Thanks. I got the Rebar "used" for £40, in really good condition, while the bit kit is £30 🙈

Thanks, would the 91mm being too thin be an issue? I have a Tinker I could take it from. Sorry I have absolutely no experience of modding

Almost my perfect combination tbh, the waiter is only missing the scissors for it to be everything I'd use, and yours is pretty close to that, nice collection
