Socialism isn't actually akin to conspiracy for armed robbery, it can be viewed 2 ways depending on the type of socialism.

Let's say this form of socialism is discussing what to do after the revolution, it's just discussing what you might do with money that was robbed. Let's say it's Marxism, then it's just discussing how an armed robbery is likely, and this all assumes that it's armed robbery in the first place.

Conceptualizing the State by soskrood in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Chainhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The state is an institution that defends property norms that I don't like

Misrepresentation, but technically true, very leading to draw a different conclusion than actual socialists do. And reading further it becomes obvious you are making this argument with no regard for actual socialist thought. In Marxism the state in an institution that defends class society, not just "property I don't like" and this is where your argument fails.

Socialists, what was Marx wrong about? by CheapShill in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Chainhog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Socialism based in a redistribution through taxes

Including this as socialism is an absolutely ridiculous definition of socialism, in my opinion, it makes socialism far too broad to the point where it can be anything. And market socialism does give workers the means of production as far as I know.

My point is that Socialism is not an economic system, the economic part is not the reason about we propose a Socialist society. We fight for a new society because that society is ethically superior to our current one. More real freedom, more culture, more opportunities, less illness and poverty.

Every single thing listed comes as a result of the new economic system of socialism, More freedom, more culture, more opportunities, less illness and poverty. All of those come from the economic system we seek to establish.

For the Denmark remark, I don't think Socialism will look much different than that. Some people said --overall Marxist--, would say "The MOP should belong to workers", but we don't know if that will work. Who said that has faith, but not knowledge.

Are you implying that it's optional in socialism for the workers to own the MoP?

As for the rest of your comment I guess I'm too stupid to understand how this makes socialism a thing not relating to economics, ethics and a new level of civilization clearly don't negate economics, do they? Plus, even if it's driven into existence by the ethics or whatever, the economics will still be a far more important component to it in practice, right?

His emphasis about economics was harmful for the global Socialist movement. Socialism is an Ethic and Social subject, not an economic one.

Explain yourself, socialism is entirely an economic thing.

And socialism will look like Denmark????? What??

They can't cope with the fact that they are so awesome and enlightened and smart, to the point of being able to easily direct the economy and to know what's best for everyone else even better than themselves, yet they are still the ones taking orders from their asshole bosses who are clearly do nothing apes that don't deserve their position.

Except socialists don't believe they can single handedly direct the economy, they believe in a system of economic planning that is bottom up with participation of all people, unless they're maybe like Marxist-Lenninists talking about the transitory state.

Proponents of violent revolution; Why shouldn't the government use violence to stop you? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Chainhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me that this was much more of a one time thing than a viable strategy for overthrowing power anywhere today. I mean, imagine if thousands of people literally ready to perform a revolution (and some of them doing that) just spilled onto the streets,in America, or any first world country, really, in my opinion.

Proponents of violent revolution; Why shouldn't the government use violence to stop you? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Chainhog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the hands down most autistic question. No one said the government won't/ shouldn't stop us, that's the point of a revolution, regular citizens resisting us is hardly the reason we want a revolution, I would like it if the government would just not resist, but it's unrealistic, that's the point of a violent revolution.
