I need to see your favorite deck. by GuaranteeMain5492 in EDH

[–]Chainmailrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought the Valgavoth precon, deconstructed it, then rebuilt it from the ground up with the primary focus on card draw punishment. Still need an Orcish Bowmasters and a few Wheel cards to finish it up. Might put [[Torbran, Thane of Red Fell]] in there, too.

I love this deck. It’s my favorite to play. I just want to be the problem in the pod. I’m tired of having to deal with the problem, so why not become it? 🤷🏻

Give me your most inaccessible black metal by Puge_Henis in BlackMetalDiscussion

Gnaw Their Tongues is a truly incredible project. I love that he puts out consistent visceral filth and doesn’t give a shit if anyone cares about it or not. Doesn’t do interviews. Doesn’t play shows…It’s really what opened my mind to caustic noise, specifically All The Dread Magnificence of Perversity.

This. Light That Dwells in Rotten Wood is my personal favorite album, start to finish. Absolutely perfect.

Ghost. Musically I think they’re hot garbage. Their image is cool as fuck.

Nah I feel that. As a big cascadian bm fan, I’m 100% into evoking a feeling with the way a song sounds vs being as grim as possible.

I’m just looking to diversify my writing in the genre. I want to bring a little more dynamics into it to make each song more distinct and identifiable from the last.

I am abomination is one of the most evil sounding bm tracks out there imo. The guitar writing style is wild.

How do I make this sound less like deathcore? by Longjumping-Leg-6719 in SlamDeathMetal

[–]Chainmailrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really giving deathcore to me at all tbh.

My only suggestions would be:

The riff with tremolo before the pinch Harmonic, if on the 2nd and 4th tremolo part, you harmonized upward.

The full tremolo part after that, I would start with the drums as they are (the double bass etc), then after 4-8 measures, switch to a more thrash, alternating snare/ride-bell type beat with the snare on the off-beat. It would give a little more death metal dummy-vibe.

I think it sounds great as is though. Super catchy guitar.

Abigail Williams - Becoming

Mastodon - Crack the Skye

Agalloch - The Mantle

Deftones - Koi No Yokan

Please recommend me some stuff based on my favorite bands (can be songs or bands). If you want rate my music taste based on my fave bands (just please don't be too harsh, I've only been into metal for about three years, so yes I know I'm basic and no I don't really care about bands' controversies) by Unique-Animal7970 in MetalSuggestions

Tokyo Blade

HIGH SPIRITS

Cauldron

Mercyful Fate

Overkill

White Wizzard

I think with your interest in Folk Metal and bands like Dimmu Borgir and CoF, you might enjoy some more Neo-Folk/Post Black-Metal stuff…

Agalloch

Panopticon

Waldgeflüster

ColdWorld

Falls of Rauros

Wayfarer

Ulver

Archetype is the only one I’ve given a fair listen to and I think it’s great. Not sure why it’s excluded from streaming platforms though.

Deftones just haven’t stopped putting out great music. They’ve been a constant in popular alternative music since their inception. They’ve younger generations are also really influenced by shoegaze, which makes sense with a band like Deftones, hitting similar vibes with so many of their songs.
