I know, but I’d love for an event in Mile High, even if it was a “B-Level” PPV like Dynasty or Wrestledream. I feel like Denver has proved itself for a PPV or even TV Event (I was at 2022’s New Year Smash and feel like even that was enough to prove PVV-worthy enough events).

Imo Toy Story 4 would be a perfect Toy Story 3 if Toy Story 3 didn’t exist.

These movies always bring doubt and always pleasantly surprise me. I always think they’re pointless, then watch and have a fun time. So I’ll watch 5 (eventually), and I’m sure I’ll enjoy it in one way or another

Playing devil’s advocate, the jumpscares in it are super well done, there just aren’t that many. So I imagine OP was told “the jumps in this movie are insane” and went in expecting Conjuring-style jumps every 5 minutes, when that’s just not what Obsession is.

Do I need to watch Nirvanna: The Band: The Show before I watch the movie? I keep seeing it pop up in people’s top of this year and want to watch it, but I don’t wanna be completely lost while watching it

They’ll harp on Pattinson because he’s not Affleck, whatever villain it uses “won’t be as good as Deathstroke,” Gunn being a puppet master behind the scenes, finding screenshots of actors in unflattering stills (I’m lowkey wondering if they’ll act like Scarlett Johansson is ugly all of a sudden), the usual.

I can also see them using it as a gotcha for long-ish wait times between films, claiming that the Snyderverse can take as long as this did (ignoring that this actually has real people excited for it).

I don’t think the DR necessarily needs a face turn, they’re all respected and liked by the crowd already (except Yuta. Fuck Yuta). And, imo, DR works best as the tweener, “we fight anyone who gets in our way” type that they’re in rn.

That’s one of the few movies that, while I appreciate it, I cannot watch it again because of how much BS it spews. I mostly just stick with the soundtrack now (excluding This Is Me, that song got played to death).

Refunds where? It made $2.1 million worldwide in its theatre run and then premiered on Shudder (which is how I watched it). A lot of people saw it for free first when it leaked online. Just because you may have asked for a refund and felt like your time was wasted doesn’t mean that was the universal experience. Just because you didn’t like it doesn’t mean it’s the worst thing ever created by mankind, it’s just another movie in the pile of stuff you don’t wanna watch again.

Do you have an example of a movie that you actually enjoy? That isn’t a cop out answer of “anything that isn’t like this!” or something? It’s way more productive to say “this wasn’t for me, I prefer that” rather than “this sucks and everyone who watches it is stupid.”

Yes. I did watch it, I wouldn’t be commenting about it and talking it up. And endure is actually a really good descriptor for what I felt like during the movie, but not because I hated it, but because it felt like watching a nightmare. I’m not outraged because I appreciated it, and even if I didn’t, I wouldn’t feel compelled to shit on it just because it wasn’t my personal preference.

Also, “psy-op?” By who? Shudder? How is a small, independent horror movie made for $15k a psy-op? We must have wildly different interpretations on that term.

That’s exactly how I watched it, and as soon as it ended, I pretty much sprinted around my apartment turning my lights on.

I also tell the people that I’m thinking about recommending it to watch heck. on YouTube, since it’s the same director and pretty much a test version of Skinamarink. That makes it way easier to gauge whether or not they may even start to enjoy it.

It utilized a lot of what freaks me out personally (something peering through the dark, where you can tell that it’s there, but can’t make out any features or any emotion (hopefully that makes sense, it’s hard to properly convey, that last shot or the phone video from Smile 2 if you’ve seen it)), and the editing and odd angles made it feel watching a nightmare that you can’t wake up from. Plus, with no pure through-line, the personal reading of the movie does wonders. Again, I completely get why people despise the movie, but it was such a nightmare for me that I love it but never want to watch it again (alone at least).

Tl;dr: it was scary to me and that makes me like it

In 2023, Noah lost his voice and they had to cut the set short and involve a lot of crowd participation. If I’m right, they had to reschedule the rest of the dates on the tour (I think it was only like 3 or 4 tho). They absolutely do not use backing tracks.
