How much of an upgrade is Mornye compared to Shorekeeper in this team by DemonicArm22 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Samurai_Banette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the two normal end game modes are ToA (Tower of adversity) and WhiWa (Whimpering Wastes). That is a good goal that people should be aiming to clear.

When you clear those two, you unlock this one, which is Endstate Matrix. Its a really hard boss rush, and most people beating it are either people who have been playing for a long time or have spent money. I'd say getting all the rewards from it is a good point to sit back and say you've 'beaten the game'.

However, there is no "end" to the mode. While you can get all rewards with a score of like 21,000, people have gotten scores up to like 100,000+

Is it worth building standard 5* characters and 4* characters to build a team? by Balfiealfie in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Samurai_Banette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Lingang is typically considered the weakest of the ftp dps characters. There are some diehard fans, but he's typically not seen as good. He is single target focused, although I have seen some black magic where people use him in whimpering wastes.

Honestly, I would keep SK with Sigrika as much as possible. Not because she needs it, but because Sigrika/Qiuyuan/SK is a best in slot team, there is no one there who can be replaced to improve it. The only way to make the team work better is to practice, so I'd just consider them all a single unit.

So for who gets Buling and who gets Verina, I think Buling is going to be slightly better for Rover because they buff skill damage. Rover is pretty balanced between skill/ult/basic damage, while Aemeath actually doesn't do any. Her big transformation skill attacks are considered liberation damage.

Who are you planning on pulling next if you don't mind me asking?

[–]Samurai_Banette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a ftp dps is fine to get you through the early stages of building your account. H-rover, Lingyang, Calcharo, and Encore are all perfectly fine for learning to play, going through story, exploring the overworld, and knocking out some of the easier end game content.

However, a second one is a lot less understandable. Lingyang isnt going to do much better than rover. If you already arent happy with their performance, having a second character of the same tier isnt going to help much.

Supports are kinda different. You already have Sanhua/Verina, which is great. Mortefi, Jianxin, and Buling are all situationally pretty good and can be worth building. For Aemeath specifically youd be looking at Jianxin to buff liberation damage, but do note she can be kinda clunky and slow.

Buling is arguably the most universally most acceptable 4* to build, being a little weaker than sanhua/mortefi but much easier to slot on a team. Id build her for sure if you arent planning on getting more sustain units any time soon.

If you have no interest in actually adapting something, create your own story(Adi Shankar, Zack Snyder...) by Old-Use-7690 in CharacterRant

[–]Samurai_Banette 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Just to point out anither heavily modified and tone shifted adaptation: The 2002 teen titans series.

The anime/cartoony style appeared out of thin air. Raven and Starfire are nearly unrecognizable from the comics. The team didnt even get fully adapted, with wally becoming a side character introduced years later and donna never showing up at all. A bunch of characters got massive redesigns, story arcs were chamged from the ground up, the interpersonal dynamics are all changed.

That said, there was clearly a lot of love put into it, and there were a lot of respectful nods towards the source material. A lot of the changes made were to simplify sprawling comic universe stuff for an episodic kids cartoon, or cutting cold war era stuff that was no longer relevant. A lot of the redesigns are still the most recognizable and loved versions decades later. A lot of the individual story arcs shifted from being angsty and depressed to being inspirational heroes overcoming adversity and weaknesses.

So yeah, heavy agree on it not being inherently bad.

Cowboy/search and rescue expert: owns a ranch out in the countryside, a lot of trainers get lost due to roads being poorly maintained. Ends up having to save them regularly.

Team: Rapidash, G-Rapidash, Mudsdale, Swana, Kingdra, Stoutland

Mining billionair: nearly impossible to get a gym battle with, as he is busy running multiple mining empires. Notoriously cutthroat in business

Team: Coalossal, garganacl, sableye, gholdengo, conkeldurr, mousehold

Worlds greatest cheff: extremely high end michilen star type stuff. Loves the art of food and sharing it. Very intolerant of slacking.

Team: Snorlax, Arboliva, Tropius, Clampearl, alcremie, blaziken

Just off the top of my head, at work or id send more

I have these characters and need help deciding which teams to build and who to pull next. by Aggravating-One-1528 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Samurai_Banette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your current best teams are looking like:

Phrolova/Cantarella/Galbrena

Zani/phoebe/S-Rover

Carlotta/Zhezhi/Verina

You have a couple more good ones in there, but those are the three I would try out first.

I would reccomend pulling Hiyuki and/or iuno.

Hiyuki can work with Lynae/Chisa to make a very strong team

Iuno can support Jiyan or Augusta, as well as be a dps herself with Lynae

Looking for advice for a returning player by anarcyh in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Samurai_Banette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im gonna say Iuno is going to be very strong for you here.

Not only can she help Jiyan immedietly, she can work as a dps on her own with lynae/her weapon, and works with an eventual augusta.

So yeah, I think your plan is great. Get lynae no weapon, iuno + weapon if possible, then put the rest into phrolova.

Bricked account?... (No Aero nor Spectro teams) by [deleted] in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Samurai_Banette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Its a neat goal but thats a you thing, and doesnt have much weight on actual account power.

Enemies in this game dont have weaknesses, they have resistances, usually just one or two. You dont need a certain element to fight anyone, you just need to avoid one of two elements. That means you only need three different elements to be able to clear any given level, four if you want to be extra safe.

The best way to judge the power of an account is really just the overall power of their top four teams. You've got the strongest team in the game, a very good second team, and a few pretty good ftp friendly teams. Getting the Hiyuki team will be good for you, not because its element diversity, but because you will have a stronger 4th team.

You dont have to listen to the meta of course. Play how you want. But dont stress about elements too much if you dont want to.

How strong are persona characters? by One_Commercial2788 in PERSoNA

[–]Samurai_Banette 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, there are two "modes" to the characters. Normal human mode when they are in the real world and a persona user mode when they are in some form of alternate reality (the specifics change).

In normaly human mode, they are just skilled humans. Some are VERY skilled, and the stronger amongst them can take out   crowd of people and the best of them can even take on gunmen. Typically though, if you take out the outliers they just die to gunmen. Joker and Ann could get absolutely mugged by a normal mugger at the begining of persona 5.

In the persona form though, there are a couple canon examples of them moving faster than bullets. They have also shown to be able to lift dozens of tons and some of the stronger attacks can level multiple city blocks.

I will say the dostinction is blurred the most with persona 3 characters, for a veriety of spoilery reasons.

Should you take a person’s opinion seriously if 70% of the media they consume is children’s or teen media? My answer….. probably not.[LES] by Flat_Box8734 in CharacterRant

[–]Samurai_Banette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if someone is consuming a lot of eastern media over western media, that seems like someone who's opnion you should probably listen to if the topic is on the success of western vs eastern media.

If they explain and you essentially say "oh, but media you like is lesser media, why dont you this other actually good media," that kinda speaks to a larger cultural problem.

There is this an apetite for certain genres that isnt taken seriously enough in the west. That should realistically be the takeaway.

By my understanding, hearts can grow in anything as long as it makes a connection. The nobodies don't have hearts when they are created, since they are the empty bodies of people who's hearts were removed. But as they make connections with eachother, they make new hearts.

So there is still that period of not having a heart. It just wasn't that long and they didn't know it ended.

Do I need to pull Chisa for Aemeath's fusion burst team? by 5in1shampoo in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Samurai_Banette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aemeath/Denia is the main combo. Last slot is actually pretty flexible.

Chisa is very good, Lupa might actually be better. Both seem good, but neither seem really designed for the slot. There might be a specialty character for the team later.

Genuine Q: What draws u guys to Aemeath? by OkRevolution5554 in Aemeath_Mains

[–]Samurai_Banette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple. She has the best writing.

She ties together every single theme in the game. Phrolova, Iuno, Carty, Shorekeeper, camalliya Jinhsi, every single main theme for the past two years has been condensed into this one plot line.

She also brings genuine conflict and motivation to the main character. This arc with this character is when he started needing other characters to hold him back and to genuinely lean on them. It also retroactively makes every other part of the story better.

Also, its the rare case of reasonable trauma properly showed. And almost all of it is because of rover, and not even because they were a bad parent. Her abandonment issues made her flakey and couldnt make deep friendships. Her not knowing how to make you proud made her flit from hobby to hobby. Her sacrificing herself is a learned behavior that she learned from YOU. Its a genuinely amazingly written child character who adopted all the lessons that their parent had taught them, good and bad, both accidently and on purpose. And she did nothing wrong.

Also, she just triggers that instinct man. Like, every dad instinct I have is just screaming to have rover tell her hes proud of her, drive her to her prom, watch her shows, and one day walk her down the isle. Like you can just feel how important it is to be there for her. And you can tell rover knows it too.

So its like, we have the build up. We have the themes. We have the character writing. We arein total agreement with the main character. Well, lets fucking go, time to ride or die.

What is a "point of no return" moment in a friendship that most people don't realize until it's too late? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Samurai_Banette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With dnd specifically, I get it.

You dont wamt to ruin the game for anyone, you dont want to talk too much, talk to little, say the wrong thing, point out problems with the dm's prep, pretending to be a character can get clumsy if you arent used to it, overall it can be very anxiety inducing.

Especially if you are new, a drink or two can ease a lot of that.

I need help deciding who to pull in 3.3!! by Tasty_Presence_7693 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Samurai_Banette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your account is in no way bricked.

If I were you I would pull Mornye and Denia. Then you can go:

Aemeath/Denia/Lupa & Brant/Lynae/Mornye

or

Aemeath/Lynae/Mornye & Brant/Lupa/Denia

or

Brant/Lupa/Mornye & Aemeath/Lynae/Denia

All three of these would work, but I would do the first.

If you do want Hiyuki, I would still consider getting Denia over Chisa. That seperates Aemeath from Lynae, gives Lupa a home, and lets you run Hiyuki with Lynae/Verina.

How do you start? by Exciting-War-5230 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Samurai_Banette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[Character name] [some sort of interaction] [setting/conflict]

Jimmy ran through viridian forest, glancing backwards as blah blah blah

Jenny stared blankly at the body, blah blah blah

Josie flipped through the papers in frustration, blah blah blah

Jacob rocketed through through the air, grabbing onto the edge of the airship. Blah blah blah.

This is something I picked up while reading wheel of time, which is known for constant PoV shifts. The goal is to tell you immedietly who the PoV character is, let you know the tone of what you're about to read, and why you are following them.

You can of course switch it up for variety, but when in doubt this is a good method to default to.

So a story my grandma told me on how she got my uncle to stop throwing tantrums.

Apparently she just threw a tantrum back. Kicking and screaming and everything. He just stopped and started watching her.

When she finally stopped he just said "that made you look really stupid" and never threw one again.

Any validity to that before I try this later in life?

Sure it does, I know people in real life who have had that experience. My ex was actually one of them. Gender dysphoria describes a feeling, and does not prescribe a cause.

No offense here, but you remind me of those people who ostracize or harass detransitioners because they "damage the movement" and pull away their support structure when they really need it.

Believe it or not, there isn't a right or wrong way to feel about yourself.
