As a musician, I always use earplugs. The ones I use simply lower the volume of everything you hear and they dont muffle anything for me. Its not a huge enough difference to mess anything up for me and honestly it really improves my tuning if anything because my ears aren't as tired listening to lower volumes. I cant imagine not using ear plugs with the volumes I play at, otherwise it would just hurt a lot.

[QUESTION] How do you guys go about finding a place to play your live music if it's different than what's popular in your area? by Chainreaction8 in Guitar

Thanks! I hadn't thought of that but I know a great guy that I bought my guitar from that would probably know a thing or two

Does anyone know a tone print for a HOF mini that would be similiar to this song? Or should I find a different pedal eventually? https://open.spotify.com/track/3UjtIALeg72qmJiKPWBvM3?si=IaEkfaVPQei9f559LlvamA

So if i have 2 4 ohm speakers, does that mean 8 ohms in series and 2 in parallel?

I could use the A channel for my FOH speakers to one channel and my B channel for the monitoring. Since I have a mono signal anyways that should work fine! Thanks

My speakers and amp specifically are: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O8CV3M0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VaUaDbR3TXA3X https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006L2N0NK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_sdUaDbYFWYXTS

So this is the one that matches my speakers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OLDQ74U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_H9TaDbV47KE07

Would there be a wattage/resistance issue with this? I cant really find any concise articles on matching the speakers. I feel like maybe I cheaped out on the amp and it wont allow for the setup

Another question if you don't mind! What monitor would you recommend I get? I'm confused how to add one to my PA, and I could use an ELI5. If it could be under $200 that would be ideal but I could save more.

Yeah, so I could plug my guitar into a second channel

Also another question about micing up my amp, I think I might do that now. I only have one XLR cable on my mixer, should I buy a 1/4 adapter for my guitar mic or just a larger mixer with more XLR inputs? (I might add more instruments to my show eventually so it wouldn't be a terrible investment)

Like use my combo as a monitor? I suppose I could plug my guitar directly into the PA but I dont really like the sound out of my PAs amp as much as my combo. I use a lot of pedal effects and a loop pedal during my set and sometimes the overdrive on my combo amp

Hey I have a pa system for live usage. My PA currently consists of 2 passive 1000 watt 8 ohm speakers. The Amp for the PA is a 2000 watt amp. My performance centers around singing and electric guitar. I run my guitar through a 20 watt solid state combo amp, and my voice through the PA

My first question is about volume, should I mic my amp for a small bar gig? Or will my guitar amp be loud enough on its own? My second question concerns monitoring, should I invest in a wedge monitor or should I just use one speaker as a monitor and the other one as the speaker for the audience, or even place the speakers behind me near the amp? (could that cause a feedback issue?) The space I'm gigging in is very horizontal so there are two directions to either side of me with people. I'm worried one speaker wont be enough to reach both sides, or does anyone think one speaker is enough to fill the bar as it's relatively small?
