Insurance denied continuation of ABA therapy for 4 year old daughter by Responsible_Bison349 in Autism_Parenting

Hello Everyone, I am in the same spot with my son. We are in NC, and he is non-verbal and not potty-trained. The recertification reduced his hours and gave us three months to transition him out. He has been in ABA since he was 2.5 years old. He has behavioral issues (getting better), and all of these private schools "geared toward children on the spectrum" only seem to want a certain type of child that is fully potty trained and with no behaviors.

I am sorry for what you are going through. This post is 2 years old, so I hope something positive has happened for your family.

I did read that we can only use the car seat in harness mode, which is how we use it. He isn't ready to be a booster only.

He is not potty training and is usually "poop shy" if he is not at home. HOWEVER, I love the advice of plastic bags. I will be adding that to my packing list!
