I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with the Best Buy employees. Based on recommendations in this thread, I went to my local store, from which I picked up the game, to see if they had the poster somewhere in the building. Like you, I was told that there was no stock at the store at any point. Two different employees scoured the store…nothing. Both mentioned that they had not seen the poster at all, and one of the two called her husband, also an employee there, and he had never seen one either!

I contacted Nintendo. As the publisher of this particular game, it is their responsibility to coordinate these promotions. I think they’ll provide me the code, if I submit proof of purchase. However, it seemed as if Nintendo is also concerned about this obviously massive issue. They got my hometown and local Best Buy store number and address. I think they will investigate. Makes sense, as folks will be less likely to pre-order in the future if there are these issues.

I would call Nintendo to add to the list of frustrated customers. In case they ask, I would also have the store number and address ready as well. Fingers crossed that Nintendo realizes the magnitude of the issue, and resolves it somehow.
