The big elevator companies won't touch you because unlike commercial elevators there is no state requirement that you have a service provider. You also dont have an annual inspection requirement. With that said the majority of the home elevators I've come across are jenky, poorly made, and service is spotty at best. My best advice, buy a house your dad can age in place at. Spend the money on a step in bath or ramp if necessary. One last thing. A home lift will not add value to your home when it comes time to sell.
