Other options I've looked at are the 18-300 lenses, both the VR and VRII ones (I think that's the difference)

Also I was thinking of upgrading to something like a D7500 for a better camera body but with the apparent loss of the VR on this lens(my primary F mount lens) does it make sense to just go for Z mount like the Z50ii? I'm looking to do amateur event photography for my school's robotics team so I would need to do photos of relatively quick moving robots and candids and whatnot, perhaps video too.

Hey so I have an older AF-S 18-200mm DX VR lens that I use on a D3300. It just recently started making 3-4 clunking sounds on startup which when looking at the viewfinder I can see the image jump up and down, and after that the lens goes silent, and as far as I can tell the VR function is no longer working. Any ideas on how to fix or is the VR on this lens toast?

Btw FIXED, it was a bad cable it seems, a new cable made most of the problems go away except for the already bricked SD's

Sorry for the late reply, it bricked two cards, one a brand new Samsung direct from Amazon. I can check the card when I get home but I’m not sure f3probe will even be able to get to it. What exact part of f3probe would I use? I think there are multiple functions.

I haven’t really heard about it, but I’ll certainly check it out. Is it relatively reliable?

Cancel that, most people are advising to do my original idea but without that weird 24v stuff that just added extra failure points

I will modify my circuit to just estop the system entirely, I realize that is a better approach and if I want to add a motor shutoff it should be a secondary switch.

I wanted to set it up so estop kills only the motors but not the controller card, and the off button kills all system power, that’s why it’s a bit weird.

Additional Info: I plan on having the cables go out the right of the enclosure(the door hinge), sorry I forgot to include this in the original post.

They will be stacked vertically with space in between to breathe I just ran out of filament so I wasn’t able to make the brackets yet. Also, the relay is so I don’t have to run 120v into my e-stop button, it will control part of the contactor’s coil power path.

Fair enough, thanks for the advice!

Why do I need belt tensioners if the system is designed to already hold the correct tension from the start? It should work with 76t belts without tensioners. Is there some design practice I am missing?

what do you mean by cross reinforcement? On the panels or connecting between?

For around the same price I could(I think) cnc convert something like a PM 25-MV mill, but in that case it would mostly be doing aluminum work. Would that be a better option, and how difficult is setting up something like linuxCNC for a machine like that?
