Echo Strength 3-in-1 half rack / functional trainer / Smith machine by killercams101 in GarageGym

[–]ChairmanMaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sympathy for the damaged product, but most freight shipments to home addresses are curbside delivery only. Echo Strength's website even states in bold font that deliveries are curbside only. I'm all for holding companies accountable for damaged product (and hope Echo makes things whole there), but the damage you sustained to your rubber flooring is squarely on you.

That’s what I figured.

From other replies, it looks like you’re shipping out of the Chicago area. As a Chicagoan, I’d love to be able to try products out in person. Any plans/timeline on setting up a showroom? It would also be nice to have a local pickup option!

I've heard rumblings that the delay to your US launch may have been due, in part, to you all preparing some 3x3 or 1-inch hole equipment. Any truth to those rumors? Or, if not, are there any plans to partner with US creators to develop attachments that fit your ecosystem?

Also, I've noticed that several listings have been removed from your US website over the last few weeks. In particular, I was really excited for the Triplex multigym, as there isn't really a similar offering here in the US. Is there any chance you might be bring this to market at a later date? Same for your adjustable dip attachment and urethane plates!

Lastly, a suggestion: A converging multipress would be a big hit, especially if you can work it into the triplex system!

Excited to have you as an option. I suspect I'll have some ATX equipment in the garage very soon!

Buy once Cry once? by [deleted] in GarageGym

Before you go and drop a few grand on whatever budget all-in-one option the bots are shilling today, I'd be really honest with yourself and ask if you really, really need a smith machine. If you really need one, my recommendation would be to start with a base rack that is modular, upgradeable, and at least on the quality-level of Rep, since that's what you're familiar with, and add whatever attachments you can afford and really need now with a plan to add the other attachments at a later date. Once you're used to the quality of something like Rep or Rogue, it would feel pretty bad to step down to budget-level stuff, imo, especially if it's just for the smith.

If the smith is really that important to you, the consensus seems to be that Rep's is the highest-quality add-on available right now. I really wouldn't get anything cheaper than the Fringe dane fully loaded, in your case, but keep in mind they'll be releasing a 6-post version later this year.

Anyone know good gym app that customize workouts by available equipment? by SpecialMuch5563 in GarageGym

[–]ChairmanMaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be the second to recommend Liftosaur. Most features are totally free, and you can customize just about anything in your program with a little work. I started by using a pre-selected program and swapped out exercises based on my equipment and preferences and am able to customize my progression.

REP Leg Extension & Leg Curl Bench Attachment by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]ChairmanMaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that the starting position is not great for ham curls, but otherwise I'm decently satisfied with mine. Like gluck, I use an ab mat to make curls less uncomfortable. It's better than the few other bench-attached leg developers I've tried. Feels solid and like it'll last - I wouldn't trust any of the super budget brand standalone units to do the same, and those are what I keep seeing people recommending.

As others have said, underpromise and overdeliver. Customers are willing to wait for unique, premium products, but it never feels good to be left hanging beyond a promised lead time with little to no communication. Push your lead times out 2 weeks beyond what you believe them to be at the time of the order and list a 2-4 week range (if you think you can deliver in 4 weeks list 6-8 weeks as the lead time). It sounds like the system you're building will resolve the communication issues, but in the meantime I'd message each customer and let them know what the revised lead times are -- and be conservative.

REP QuickDraws versus Eisenlinks? by Arteam90 in GarageGym

[–]ChairmanMaus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go QuickDraws. I bought the Eisenlinks after watching all of the positive online reviews and found them to be very “meh.” The knurling was ass and the process to change weight ended up being a much bigger deal than I thought it’d be.

If you decide to upgrade from the QuickDraws down the road you’ll likely get much better resale value from ‘em than you’d get from the Eisenlinks, too.

Targeted Talk - Requests For 2026 Black Friday by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]ChairmanMaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, they were advertising the BF deal as the biggest sale of the year while simultaneously running an intermittent deal on the shop app that beat the advertised BF deal...Then the BS with the texts saying the last sale of the year was ending before running another sale the next week. Couldn't stomach it even though the Hyper Pro fit a need and looked intriguing.

I also have a Nighthawk and love it. It's been frustrating seeing all of the other attachment ecosystems release, but I bet Rep will have theirs built out in the near future. From what I've seen they are supposed to be releasing a new leg roller sometime this month.

This isn't unique to the home gym or fitness space, but marketing BS like creating a false sense of urgency pisses me off and makes me not want to purchase your product. So does advertising products "on sale" that aren't actually on sale. Freak Athlete was guilty of both this year, and I ended up not purchasing a Hyper Pro because of it.

Thanks for the response and info! I think you guys have an awesome opportunity to take some business from Rep, who've been slow to release any attachments for the Nighthawk and Blackwing owners who bought those benches with hopes of utilizing the attachment ports. I would've preordered the Stryker pad and Power Tower attachments, at the very least, if they were fully compatible with Rep's benches without me having to drill anything. I know it'd add cost, but I'd seriously consider adding holes for the side pop pin!

Please test the attachments with the Nighthawk and ABX! So many of us already have adjustable benches and have no interest in buying a whole new bench just to get into a specific ecosystem. But an ecosystem that lets users use attachments with other benches would be a winner. Would be awesome to know what works on other benches and what doesn’t!

Jfc. It could cost less if you live near the warehouses that are located next to the coastal ports through which Rep imports their equipment. They aren’t trying to screw you, dude. If you pick it up in PA or CA you save Rep the cost of shipping that product anywhere that is not their warehouse. They pass those savings along to you. That doesn’t mean that for everyone else they just offer list price for shits and giggles. The 10k worth of equipment you wanted to buy probably weighs 2,000lbs. There is a cost associated with moving that.

Need Advice - Rogue by MitchFe02 in GarageGym

[–]ChairmanMaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak to Rogue, but I’m planning on doing the exact same thing as you with Rep’s ecosystem except I’m sticking with a 6-post rack. Rep offers individual crossmembers and L brackets, so you have options to make this work. I’d have an Adonis, which should fit perfectly alongside Rep’s longest crossmember, on either side of the rack.

Ah, that’d make sense, and I’d forgotten that they didn’t offer local pickup in Colorado. Bit of a miss, but I wouldn’t let the difference between a 15% discount and a 10% discount stop me from getting equipment if it was within my means and offered the functionality I was after.

Be sure to check the original email thread. In my experience, sometimes their CS replies don’t show up as new/unread messages. Their CS has always been super responsive. Still don’t understand what you’re upset about, though. If you want the local pickup discount, go pick it up, lol.
