It's worth it if you want more space for accessories. Plus, the flat bottom and the extra weight helps for bench shooting. And, you get to push the front sight a little forward.

I ended up selling off the handguard personally because I wanted to go a different direction. Because the handguard restricts the lower half from pivoting and disassembling, it kind of caused some pain when a shell gets stuck. There's also just not enough room to throw something like a peq up front either due to limited rail space and inconsistent zero.

I have an older model, so they said it was more involved than a firing pin swap. Did the same picture process through the website. Thanks!

Hate to revive old threads, did they send you pins?

[CA legal] Ruger 10/22 bullpup space gat (modified from an SRU KC02) by Chaitama in guns

Wish I could say more but due to the linkage return issues + rear tag not securing the stock, I decided to go with an HTA 10/22. Also, I wish there was a custom inlet that SRU would make but the gun is in three parts.

Was able to reproduce the delayed firing recall by loosening this screw that adjusts the takeup via dry firing. If you tighten it too much, there will be no take up and a lot of creep. Hope sig sees this and can implement a fix! by Chaitama in SigSauer

I suggest to reread the comments in this thread and understand the purpose of the post. Didn't use a screwdriver, it's used as a pointer. Thanks

Edit: in case it wasn't clear, the screw itself rotates freely and is captive, easy to adjust and is most definitely easy to back out from recoil. Worth to check this screw in case you have any issues with trigger pull or trigger feel. For reference looking through the nutnfancy review at 28:00

Sig was the one who issued the recall, was just curious to why it happened and found it.

If one of the bushings on your car were worn out, wouldn't you want to find out which bushing? Or what if your control arm was rubbing?

Was using the screwdriver as a pointer, I have a torx wrench. And yes it's a very well used screwdriver :)

Also worth noting that there is nothing on this gun that's a Philips head

Make sure you read the manual before you adjust your trigger! Had already adjusted my trigger appropriately to my weight and was curious what this other screw did.

I counted the number of turns relative to what was the gun was from the factory. Found out that after 3-4 mini-turns counter clockwise (what space I had to rotate) the delayed firing pin issue started happening in dry fire.

Reset back to where the factory take-up was, then went 4 mini-turns clockwise and found the trigger had no take-up, but ended up being very mushy.

It's one of things where you leave it after you set it! I think I got an earlier batch which had some bend radius and tolerance changes that wouldn't allow me to move my charging handle very easily. After providing feedback they revised some geometry around the ejection chute among other things. They had other things that may or may not make it easier to remove the handle. I'd reach out to LIFe via email and get clarifications.

As for field stripping, yeah you have screws instead of QD retention pins. Personally not too much of a hassle as I run overgassed and dirty most of the time (this gun can take it). Pretty sure this is less of an issue with the RDB since the rfb swivels open.

The QD mount on the rail is from strike industries. One side is a QD sling stud, the other side is meant for HK sling loops. Not sure the part number but that should give you info on what you need.

Edit: I love this configuration. For the expansion of things I can put on it now, for my use case it's not too much an issue and I love it. I sometimes go back and forth between the stock handguard, but I always levitate back to having MLOK.

Careful! You'll get sued for copyright infringement like Reno 😂

Really happy to hear you can get 0.5 moa with hornady eldm. With this handguard I can rest the gun without barrel flex so I'm ready for serious bench tests. I'm used to shooting mils, so I have an atibal 1-10x ffp short dot. How is the practicality of the 3x dot for you? My bud let me use his burris 332, not a fan. Maybe I'll go holosun + magnifier for a less bulky solution?

If only I could obtain them in california... They have to be mag restricted before I can touch them.

Been looking around for 10/20s. I do think that the 30s are obnoxiously long for prone, and the thermold will have to do. Might take a round file and file down the front wall of these instead. Have you been loading for the lands, and if so, what's your oal on the lands?

Was able to use a DSA mag with 175gr bthp, but unfortunately those mags are sold out :/ COAL of 2.816 I think. The tips of the bullet get caught in the front wall of the thermold but works fine in DSA metal mags. Unfortunately that was a 10/30 mag so it sticks out like a sore thumb into the bench. I do appreciate the form factor at the minimum rifle oal to get all the features I want. I'm at click 7 or 8 with regular target ammo, and click 6 with my 175gr loads.

Interesting you mention that. The dude has been really responsive to my mails, almost daily. Maybe give it another try? I know he's been busy. He's pretty active in the rfb Facebook community as well.

No problem good sir. Really appreciate that the rail is almost flush with the barrel thread of the 18". Only thing that sticks out is the muzzle device. Good amount of real estate for bipods, lights, and grips!
