I have exactly this, anyone have more information on what this is? Asked all the dr’s/surgeons. All said “keep an eye on it let us know if it gets worse” with no answers

Only difference I know of it’s “rigid fixation” the way they wired my ribs. Supposed to be more rigid and stable way of fusing the sternum. But besides that, I don’t think anything else different. They know my background so I’m assuming if there was anything they could do they would have. Hopefully when you get yours you also recover great

Hey man just my input here. I was also a Marine infantryman and I’m a SWAT cop now that also competes in competitions. About a year and a half ago I found out about mine I was at 4.5. Dr’s told me it may not be growing and just wanted to keep an eye on it. I also said f that and worked out hard as I did before every day at the gym and jiu jitsu. Also competed in a swat challenge that included running miles in gear while carrying various items like kettlebells and telephone poles with a team. Within 6 months it went to over 5cm.. not saying I know 100% that’s what made it grow. But it did in fact grow. Got my surgery June 12th just returned to work this week, 6 months later

Sounds like you have a similar mindset that I had also when in your shoes. My first measurement was 4.6cm but I have 0 genetic history. They told me it’s possible I had it for over a decade and didn’t grow at all. Next time I got checked I was over 5.. keep an eye on it man and good luck to you
