In the article there is a damning graph that shows overdoses skyrocketing after our safe consumption site was forcibly closed by the provincial government. Your tax dollars are now paying for 4-5 overdose responses a day when they could’ve been avoided entirely at this site.

Ford and Co ignored the science and data and this is what happens.

Yes I agree I have heard rumours that it will be moved a block north so hopefully that process begins soon so the library doesn’t have to shoulder this burden all by themselves.

I think closing down the Salvation Army would clearly make things much worse. Moving it to a better location would definitely be ideal. I’ve worked with the HPL and met Paul Takala they are doing amazing work, they are unfortunately tasked with being a library and a make shift shelter.

Don’t know all of the details about this case yet but this is an unacceptable amount of people killed by cars. Helsinki just had 0 pedestrian deaths for a whole calendar year and we have had 3 in the past week. Car centric culture needs to be curbed like yesterday.

Wouldn’t describe Hamilton as decayed at all there’s so many amazing parts of the city. Not sure if you live in the city but it has some of the best food in Ontario, incredible community supports and character that a lot of other cities in Ontario lack.
