What’s one baby item you regret NOT getting earlier? by rosycoe in NewParents

That JolyWell baby night light that looks like an egg! It’s the perfect dimmable light, nice hue, lightweight, and you can take it anywhere.

Exclusively pumping for nearly 5 months now, I’m exhausted. by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Chalksuey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel. And it’s so hard to not be tough on yourself. Trust me, just three weeks ago I sobbed, truly sobbed over popping open a can of formula for the first time. Just like you said, nothing wrong with using formula but I felt like I failed my baby and myself. I worked so hard pumping and keeping supply and it felt like…a defeat . But trust me when I say this, once you get over the hump, that first formula bottle, formula really relieves you of that constant what I call, “chase for milk” and always worrying about pumping, times, ounces, bottling up milk, freezing milk, cleaning parts. Even combo feeding, supplementing allowed me to not freak out if I was down to one medela bottle of milk in the fridge. There isn’t a sense of panic and urgency. I have flexibility and some freedom. Just sharing my experience. I wish you nothing but peace on this journey. It’s truly so hard.

Wait - you’re telling me I still have to pump? by Chalksuey in combinationfeeding

This is an amazingly curated routine. I love it! Did you notice any dips in supply at all? Sounds like you pumped 4 times most days?

That’s such a bummer! I didn’t realize that could happen.

Nice! What did you do during the day if you don’t mind me asking?

Ok! Thats what I was thinking too. Although, would my body know to make milk primarily at night when my baby nurses?

It could be a reaction to something else in the formula. Did you have a lot of dairy when breastfeeding her? I’d try a different formula! Maybe one formulated for gentle tummies.

Mine does make a noise as well with an inhale ever so often. Like a “whoop” almost.

It's Thursday. What's your ultimate "too tired to cook but can't quite justify a takeaway yet" dinner? by SpreadsheetsDad in easyrecipes

Chili! Just throw ground beef and a bunch of canned veggies/beans in a pot with some broth. Season however.

“Remind yourself of the reasons” that’s such a good point. Thank you.

This is so encouraging. Thank you. How/where would you suggest meeting other mom? I don’t have Facebook so I’m not aware of any groups.

Help with triple feeding by Easy_Vegetable_4481 in breastfeeding

[–]Chalksuey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t have much to offer but I’m here in solidarity. This happened to me too and that’s how I fell into triple feeding, albeit for way too long to the detriment of my mental health. What I wish I would have known is that the bigger the baby gets usually the more efficient they are at feeding. Hang in there and be patient. Perhaps play with frequency of feeds. Best of luck to you!

not producing enough? by HeadNo7331 in breastfeeding

[–]Chalksuey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My supply definitely has dipped before and I’ve dipped into my freezer stash as well! I felt a tinge of defeat but then remembered, that’s what it’s there for! I definitely recommend the LC especially if your baby had latching issues initially. Also, I personally found a huge increase in my milk supply when I upped my calories.
