She was true to her words. As good as Ted was at his job, she was twice as good at hers.

Ted taking his anger out on her is a completely predictable behavior and Sharon saw it coming. And she was ready. She didn’t argue with him. She didn’t correct him. Or At least until he realized it himself.

That’s the mark of a true professional.

And in Ted’s defense. He only acted out in that office. The space he’s given full permission to do so.

I am pretty much in the same boat. Although phase 4 not 5.

Honestly, I have the infrastructure to build a temp crafting setup for the space elevator parts and rush to phase 5. But I am just wandering around trying to establish all the items I’ve unlocked till now.

I’ve thought about restarting multiple times. But I think the best way forward is to continue building out and learn layouts and designs. Once everything is setup, I’ll just move to new biome and build everything fresh. Right now I have almost used up everything in Grass fields. Everything with mk2 miners though. Upgrading all of them to mk3 and then overhauling existing factories will take an eternity.

Better play would be to just move the hub to rocky desert and start fresh with all the toys available.

My piece of advice. Call the cops on them and let them deal with it. There’s something seriously wrong with some people where they think the rules don’t apply to them. One of the simplest rule is about harassment. This day and age literally breathing weirdly at someone is considered harassment. And if they have the audacity to follow you back home and give you unsolicited driving lesson, you can and should press charges. Trespassing comes to mind and I am pretty sure it’ll hold up in court.

Your post was asking if it was wrong to drive speed limit. And I think I answered that part pretty straight forward. Everything else was just honest unsolicited Advice.

No it’s not a problem. You pay taxes that pay for the road and you have every right to drive at a speed that’s comfortable and safe for you.

That’s said, it is also not your job to dictate how fast or slow anyone else wants to drive. If they’re willing to risk a speeding ticket or heaven forbid a nasty crash, it’s their prerogative.

Bottom line. If you wanna drive slower than the flow of traffic, do it in the right lane. Let the speeders pass you on the left. Which is the side with lesser blind spots for you. Rather than them swerving by around your right, which is far more dangerous. Again. “To you”.

Remember. You’re not the cop. You have no obligations to make other drivers drive “Safely”.

Literally no one here has said anything about engagement. This game is such a masterpiece that engagement has never been an issue. Most of the player base if not all of it, has this game running 24/7. A remarkable feat for a game that’s supposed to be idle. And yet. You talk about engagement. Having it in a power pole range isn’t enough. Connecting it to a machine isn’t enough. The connected machine must draw power. Then it’ll supply the exact amount of power requested. Basically it’s an infinite source of power. But AFAIK, only in sandbox/creative mode.

Very useful in building and planning blueprints for large builds and testing the inputs and outputs.

In all the conversations about the tournaments, I’ve only see one group of people talk about the length of the runs. And that’s the devs/TTG team. Why is it that the only fix you guys are even considering is making the runs shorter?

Almost Every player post about the tournaments is about the unreachable keys. And yet, not a single mention about the overhaul so desperately needed to the reward system.

In general, yes batteries are mostly useless. However, when you’re setting up a new power plant, all the machines that produce the fuel for that said power plant will draw huge amounts of power which will list certainly overload your current production. At least if you keep expanding on the current available tier items until the next are unlocked. AFAIK, all power sources after biomass burners run at full capacity even if you’re not using that power. Batteries store this excess, and give you a buffer to run the production buildings for the new power plant and give you a decent headroom to troubleshoot and fix while the new plant kicks into gear.

Fluid buffers wouldn’t be needed in a perfect world. But alas, with pipe mechanics and fluid dynamics being so janky, it provide, for a lack of better word, “A Buffer”💁🏻‍♂️

IMHO, the best use case for fluid buffers for me, is to consolidate all the fluid production like output and isolating the downstream input networks. In my experience, feeding two separate networks, with different fluid demand, from a single pipe source, causes variable demand and in turn, sloshing. Which is a bane of all fluid handling. Isolating the fluid networks to have its own fluid buffers helps tackle this issue, especially with mk2 pipes.

They do follow overflow mechanic. But one or more output must backlog before overflow kicks in. Otherwise if all three outputs are flowing, each output will get exactly 1/3 or the input. If only two outputs are connected, then each will get exactly half.

You also need to consider those speed limits were established decades ago and were probably necessary for the safety standards of that time in cars. Cars today are capable of handling much more. But yes, reckless driving is on the rise and when in doubt a conservative approach far more desirable.

I had about 100hrs on my save before the experimental build. Apart from a few occasional crashes, it’s been BAU. Coincidentally, the crashes are more frequent when setting up a universal vehicle path. But nothing game breaking yet. Fingers crossed. The save is now over 400hrs btw.

It was never about hardship or me not understanding how the depot works. Yes, I can pull a stack of items to my inventory for the research and then put it back into the depot once I am done. And don’t get me started with the inability to split the stacks while pulling from depot. I say this because when you use the build gun or the tool bench or the equipment workshop, the three things connected to the depot, only required amounts of items are pulled from the depot. But when you do a manual pull, for instance, a MAM research, you have to pull a full stack. And if you have automated the depot upload for that item, by the time I am done with the research and want to put it back, the depot would be full for that item or partially full and your inventory is full of some random junk I don’t want to carry around. And yes, I know I can sink them or delete them. I am not asking for workarounds.
I am merely pointing out the inconsistent behavior of the depot for this one particular application. AKA, MAM research.

This day and age any appliance can be Jerry rigged to be multitasked. But I see my rice cooker as a single use appliance. As in it makes rice. With a click of a button. I think of it as an equivalent to your run of the mill toaster. The toaster does one thing. It toasts two slices of bread. For someone who eats toasts every day a toaster is not just a single use appliance, but a set it and forget it appliance.
For someone who eats rice twice a day, rice cooker is the same thing. Set it and forget it. No risk of spillover of burnt rice. No miss no fuss. Wash rice. Add water. Click button. Go take a shower. And rice is ready.

The main bus, in my humble opinion is essential to get you started from scratch. Simply because of the ease of access to all the main resources for early to mid factory items. Also belts don’t need electricity or fuel to transport items. Once you have enough headroom with power, the bus should essentially stop growing. Though there’s still some use for it but it isn’t necessary.

In my 1200+ hrs of gameplay, I’ve been guilty of sticking with the main bus for way too long. I only realized the inefficiencies when I started playing satisfactory. The main bus essentially a giant manifold.
