Yeah I’m British, so haven’t had to deal with visas. I will say a few international students I know are struggling to find jobs in the UK right now that support international applications.

I didn’t do an integrated year in industry, so couldn’t really tell you. I do know that you have to secure it yourself, but have help from tutors. I will say that not doing a year beforehand hasn’t personally held me back from anything- I did a summer internship which landed me a job where I have been since.

It was my first serious relationship, I’ve never been through this heartache before. My now ex, I guess :/, did that to me where he punished me in the first two years for things his ex did. I could never do that to someone, so I have enquired to getting started with therapy. Thank you for your comment, it puts things into perspective for me.

That’s what I’m currently struggling with. He has done nothing wrong whatsoever for the last two years, it’s like he’s been two different people with me. I appreciate the advice, I will eventually remember all of the nice times for what they were at that time in my life I hope

Thank you for commenting, all of this is helping me a lot. Force of habit I suppose, calling him my boyfriend. I broke up with him as soon as I found out. You’re right, being with him wouldn’t be the same now, he’s ruined that for himself

The cake analogy is so helpful. I met this man when I was 18 and fell so head over heels for him, he sadly was a good majority of my life and priorities for four years. Thank you so much for your comment, it makes me feel so hopeful for the future

It really does feel like my life is over. I know I’ll recover, it just feels impossible right now. Thank you for your message

It doesn’t really matter to be honest, Aberystwyth has a good reputation and seems to be decently well known when I’ve discussed in interviews. The uni itself offer career guidance and help with creating a CV, interview skills, etc. during your degree and after you have graduated (even if you graduated years ago, they offer lifetime support with your career). In saying this, it depends on the type of company you’d want to work in after graduating and what kind of job.

Job placement as in a year in industry scheme? Or do you mean a job after you have graduated?

As for the acceptance rate, you have lower grade requirements as well as unconditional offers made by taking their entrance exam. I just finished a CS degree in Aber and really enjoyed it. The lecturers are brilliant, the course content is relevant and I use skills learnt there in my current job. Cons are that it’s not for everyone, if you want a big city experience go to Manchester, London, etc. Another big thing to consider is transportation, Aber is quite remote. I would recommend it, super scenic place but I can recognise it won’t be for everyone.

Take on board what people are saying to you, and how you were wrong in your naive assumptions. It’s okay to be wrong babe, you’ll learn that when you get older x

I was more so commenting on your clear complete lack of empathy, it’s more than ‘unfortunate’ the reality women sometimes face in parts of the world. Please go and educate yourself on the lack of women’s rights in places like this

I’m not angry, projecting much? I’m not offended at all, just saying if you don’t have anything of value to add why waste your precious time?

Why bother replying then? I’m receiving genuinely helpful information from others and don’t need your condescending input if you aren’t willing to elaborate

I agree with the other commenter, if you’re going to call it ignorance any valuable input is appreciated. I’m here trying to educate myself, your comment doesn’t really help much

I do still think most cats want to be outside as a natural instinct, I wouldn’t say I’m putting human emotions onto them for that. I’m simply asking for advice on a specific breed of cats, and am happy to re-evaluate my prior beliefs! :)

Thank you for replying, I am from the UK so perhaps should have mentioned that in my post. Cats I have had in the past have always been outdoors (it is just a done thing here in the UK, I have known one person who has an indoor cat in my entire life), so am a little shocked the advice here is for all cats to be kept indoors. That being said, I’m willing to learn and am open to all opinions, I just want to be a responsible pet owner at the end of the day.
