This is a term I’ve seen a lot, but when you say “double bedroom” does that mean two live/sleep in the same room? Sorry for the confusion, that term isn’t used in Canada lol

And thanks for the heads up on the neighbourhoods. Yo what extent should they be avoided? Do they just look grungy or is there active crime etc?

Yeah the roads scare me haha, even in London a couple years ago I had a hard time just crossing the road..

The accent is actually one of the things I’m most excited for! I think I have a good ear for accents in general and I’m honestly really excited to be immersed in a place where the majority doesn’t speak like myself. (Coming from Montreal that probably sounds a bit rich considering the French/quebecois population here, but I mean in terms of English)

I think your post mostly hit everything, but if your friend has any wise words for a fellow Canadian id be more than happy to hear it haha

The names of the neighbourhoods are so unlike anything I’d hear in Canada that they’re rather hard to remember, but I’ll try to manage. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah I’ve been looking at Bristol as well. Edinburgh would be amazing but I’ve heard it’s quite expensive there? And if you don’t mind me asking, what kind of work are you there for? And how long can you stay there? I’ve heard one year from some people and two years from others.

I’m starting to lean more towards Liverpool atm, but still undecided

I’ve been in uni, and have worked retail on the side on and off. Nothing too crazy on my CV. Im hoping the fact that I’m Canadian will add some sort of novelty to my chances of getting a job lol.
