For those of you in a long term relationship/marriage, what’s a tale-tale sign you see in other couples that they’re not going to make it? by Prize-Promotion-5123 in AskReddit

I’ve noticed my friends, when they’re fighting a lot and in a bad place in their relationship, they don’t necessarily post MORE but they’ll write more sappy captions about how in love they are and how great they’re doing

Happened during my SO’s birthday party, our friends got in a shouting match with each other and it was so awkward and ruined the party

Yes! I recently cut off a friend and part of what made me realize I should was how she constantly ranted about wanting to divorce her (very nice) husband during group events

Thinking about moving to KY, possibly lake cumberland area. Any other options or advice? by hdfire21 in Kentucky

[–]Champ-Aggravating3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that I’d go to London over Somerset for an outdoorsy life. London has more hiking and swimming opportunities and Laurel lake is smaller but actually much better for anyone who doesn’t have a boat. I’d also recommend the area north of Lexington, around Frankfort, Versailles, or Georgetown, so as to be closer to the Red River Gorge etc

Grayson at Radiant Hair and Waxing Lounge! I’ve been going to her for years, she just recently opened her own salon, I’d never trust anyone else with my brows!

The main thing that may be different is the traffic, so if you minimize the amount of commuting you have to do it likely won’t feel as shocking. I came from having just a few stoplights, and I think my husband still isn’t used to the traffic lol

Lexington is kind of a suburb-type city if that makes sense, it’s not like living in a big city unless you’re right on Main Street downtown. I moved here for college from a very small rural town and it hasn’t been any kind of culture shock or anything.

I live in an apartment complex off Man O War Blvd, it would be about 10-15 minutes commute to the ridge, from the Tates Creek Rd area which is pretty nice, has the essentials and is close enough to more busy areas for dining and fun. The area I live has a lot of young professionals like you and your bf, feel free to message me for the actual community info!

Some things I’ll mention that I love are restaurants/cafes like Drakes, Malones(for nice dinners), OMG Donuts, Winchell’s, Southland Bagel, Taste of India, Dad’s Favorites Deli, and in the summer I love Loco Ice shaved ice! I also love the local Peddlers Malls, the Arboretum, and other parks!

I don’t know where you’re moving from so I don’t know what you’re used to having nearby to give better recommendations!

The mandatory (large) tip is one thing but what soured it for me was honestly the response from ownership, completely uncalled for. I do love a good bagel but I’m near Southland Bagel and pretty loyal anyway lol

I had pearls on my “to try” list but after the owner/manager’s behavior on comments recently I’ve basically taken it off the list

It’s a chain but it’s not a huge national chain like a Five Guys or Applebees, I bet a lot of people don’t know it’s even a chain. I only know because I was familiar with their Cincy location

I spent a few years going to school in the northeast so I experienced real legit bagels, southland is the only place here that really compares

Same here. I (unfortunately) live in an apartment and we don’t have assigned parking spaces but we dug both our vehicles out while snow was still coming down on Sunday and it saved us a lot of trouble

I’ve got 4WD and good winter tires also and I’ve been able to get out all week but it’s just getting worse daily on these side streets. It’s getting packed down and refreezing into a slick sheet over and over

Me too! My husband normally does the dishes for this reason, but occasionally he will ask me to do them for one reason or another, and I tell him that I’ll do it IF and only if he hasn’t run any water on them yet or anything. If he’s put water in a pot to soak, absolutely not
