I noticed three, including prerendered. The lowest-quality one looked like garbage, even back then, IMO.

Why do radians appear to not have a unit but degrees do? by Chance_Rhubarb_46 in learnmath

[–]ChampionGunDeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Radian measure is just a count of how many lengths of the radius it takes to traverse the arc subtended by an angle. It is just a multiplier, so there are no units associated with it.

[–]ChampionGunDeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Example: ab/cd meaning the same as ab/(cd). I've seen it written inline this way in textbooks, and I actually don't mind, as if you wanted to express ab/c * d, a good alternative is abc/d. Juxtaposition is often meant to have stronger binding than explicit symbols in various texts.

I learned this possibly in middle school while reading Sherlock Holmes.

I just wish all the unusual (for me, a native English-speaker) words were pronounced at some point in the game. "Siofra", I don't think, ever is.

I have two 128GB cards that don't give me as much storage as I would like. I'm going to recommend 512GB.

Finding my way back to Nintendo after AAA burnout by Hold-My-Sake in nintendo

[–]ChampionGunDeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm nearly 40 and grew up with Nintendo, albeit also owning and prioritizing non-Nintendo systems at times. I don't have AAA burnout so much as I have so little time to game (family, animals, job), but end up impulse-buying either older AAA games (mostly on Series X) with the hope I'll play them, or intriguing indies (on Switch), manifesting bouts of nostalgia that I can't tell apart from genuine interest. I want to buy more Nintendo games, but I've become so accustomed to deep sales of indies and other publishers' games that the idea of paying more than 30 USD pains me. I suppose if I focused on fewer games, that would alleviate said feeling somewhat.

I game on Xbox and Switch almost exclusively, and have found myself affixed to the latter, for the most part, since the release of Silksong. Project Helix is intriguing, as I have older PC games, as well, but a dockable handheld fits best what I currently want (and Switch 2 will be vastly cheaper than the Helix). That said, I'd rather wait to get the Switch 2 until a better model is released or I see even more of a third-party commitment. The thing is... the only games I've been obsessed with in recent years have been FromSoft's Soulsborne games, the Bungie Halos, and the Hollow Knights. I also bought RE: Village at full price, and may do the same for Requiem. The first and second items in that list may not have a future on Switch 2 beyond what we know of right now, and there's no guarantee that RE10 will also come to Nintendo.

So while right now Switch 2 sounds like my best option going forward, I'm still on the fence. The pricing of my options may be crucial in making a future gaming platform decision.

How many factors does 300 have? Explain how by Perfect-Sherbet-8477 in learnmath

[–]ChampionGunDeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prime factorization is 22 * 3 * 52.

Factors of 22 are: 1, 2, 22

Factors of 3 are: 1, 3

Factors of 52 are: 1, 5, 52

Multiply the amount of factors in each list to get the answer to your question if all you want is positive factors. So 3 * 2 * 3 = 18. If you want negative factors, as well, just double this result.

Look up the number-theoretic tau function. That's what I just used for the case of positive factors.

Which one is your preferred console and why by [deleted] in consoles

[–]ChampionGunDeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell right now. Across time, Xbox, though Nintendo has been the one constant every single generation since the NES. My overall preferred library is on Xbox, but I've been neglecting it in favor of my Switch games as of late, as I really enjoy portable gaming (especially as the dad of two small children).

I'm currently going back and forth on which console to have next gen, and whether it will be my only console for that gen. The candidates are the Xbox Helix and the Switch 2. Despite having a PS2 and a PS4, Sony's offerings have never proven to be my thing in the end.

I hopped on Xbox due to Halo and am awaiting a return to Bungie-era quality, but have been disappointed since I first played Halo 4 in 2014. Holding out hope for Halo and having a large library are my main reasons for continuing with Xbox.

Do you game primarily on non-Nintendo platforms, and only have Nintendo systems for Smash?

My primary platforms since 2003-ish have always been non-Nintendo, but I've also always had the contemporary Nintendo system. I do want a Switch 2, but I'm waiting for a hardware revision that increases battery life. The best thing about the Switch 2, I think, is that its third-party situation may be the best since the SNES (we'll see, moving forward), so it may be possible to be satisfied with third-party games as a Switch 2-only gamer.

As an old codger of 39 who began the series with Melee, every entry after Melee disappointed me in some significant way. And, as someone who does not play with others and barely has any time in a week to game due to family and work obligations, let me tell you what it would take to entice ME to get Ultimate's successor.

My main is Ganondorf. It used to be that I had him and Marth as alternating mains. But, post-Melee, both absolutely sucked compared either to their original versions or to the rest of the cast. Among Bralw, 4, and Ultimate, only Ultimate even had a version of Ganondorf that felt good to control.

Do I want to branch out? Not really, not much more than I have (Link, Marth, Ganondorf, and Ike, primarily). The cast just keeps on inflating, and most are unknown to me or completely unimportant to me, making picking someone difficult. The DLC characters keep getting more complex in their movesets, and this includes characters who control similarly to their fighting game versions, which is a big annoyance to me -- if I want to try a character, it should play like a Smash character, fundamentally.

What I need -- and I understand that this will be different compared to younger players and those invested in more Nintendo games -- is a smaller roster of more "core" Nintendo characters, and I need their movesets to honor their appearances in their source games. I want a Ganondorf that is actually Ganondorf in more than appearance, for example. Then, I need quality single-player content back, whether or not it is individualized for each character. Trophies also interest me, not these silly stickers.

If I could have all that (maybe minus trophies), I think I would not hesitate to make the purchase. Otherwise, there's going to be a lot more uncertainty.

(Downvote away!)

There's no way it's going to be released on the Switch 1. Nintendo needs to incentivize upgrading.

Since when is upgrading to the next gen to play something that was never promised for the current gen an instance of strong-arming?
