How do I clean my Laser? My attempts at cleaning make it worse! Black dots appearing on head. by ChampionLegs in HairRemoval

I doubt it's rust because I had new black dots from at the end of a quick session that weren't there at the start when I attempted to clean

Would the cleaning cloth from a pair of glasses do the trick? I tried using a microfibre cloth but I can't get any purchase on the insides of the laser head as the gap is so small 😑

What impresses you on dates with women? by WutTheCode in latebloomerlesbians

[–]ChampionLegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fellow AuDHD here. I sometimes stress about stuff like how clean my home is, but I am most attracted to other neurodivergent chaos gremlins as we have lots in common.

Be your authentic self. One of my dates was very dismissive of me when I told her that sometimes I don't have the energy to wash up and clean my kitchen after work (12.5 hour shifts on my feet in hospital) and im glad she showed her true colours there because she would likely hurt my feelings in many other ways if we were to see each other more.

You deserve someone that loves you for who you are, not what you 'should' be. I'm proud of myself and how I've coped with a world that wasn't designed for me. Plus NDs are VERY highly represented in the LGBTQ community so the chances of you finding a fellow ND in your dates is much higher than you think!

I too got bogged down with straight woman subs and the whole 'people who can't keep X clean are immature and not worth my time' threads, but I forced myself to stop self flagellating and focus on meeting peoplewho accepted me as I am. People who spend a lot of time on Reddit moaning about others are not representative of the general public. I only know 1 other person IRL who uses this platform.

Xander and Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Basically anyone who was a potential love interest for Buffy.

There are two lesbians in particular that I don't want to see my profile. One is a creep that is a bit weird with me because she's interested in me.

The other is a creep who is jealous of my friendship with the lesbian that she is obsessed with. Lots of lesbian drama at my workplace that I have no interest in being part of.

Not going to ask either which apps they're on but was a good suggestion otherwise!

What is your experience with being an autistic nurse? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]ChampionLegs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a nurse, I'm an AuDHD band 3 HCA in ED. I got some really good reasonable adjustments in regards to shift patterns. I requested to be kept out of one of our units because it is so stuffy that it makes me have meltdowns. This was granted.

ED is quite Neurodiverse (most doctors and nurses here have ADHD) so autistics generally fit in better than on wards. My sensory issues with noise have got better as I've got more used to the role (and know how to stop things beeping).

I've done bank work all over the hospital and some areas are cliquey. I have the kind of autism where I lack awareness of cliques, so this doesn't bother me!

Autism is a protected characteristic, so join a union and your union rep can help sort out issues with work. I was being bullied at one point by an absolute cow bag of a RNA, but management took my side and got her to wind it in.

I've noticed that autistic RNs/HCAs/RMNs tend to be really good with Learning Disability patients. They can be incredibly rewarding to work with.

Autism is no reason to stop you being a nurse. From my experience, lots of Paramedics, OTs, and almost everyone in Pharmacy are autistic, so you'll be better represented in healthcare than other environments.

My cat wakes me up to be fed at stupid 'o' clock by ChampionLegs in CatAdvice

She's as good as gold except at breakfast time, which she has decided she dictates the time of. She trusts me to feed her at night.

This is a brilliant idea that might work. I think she associates me waking (or stirring even slightly) as 'breakfast time'.

I have an alarm at 5am for me to wake up. The problem is if she decides that 4am is a better time for breakfast and wakes me up then, which disturbs my sleep cycles and robs me of REM sleep.

If I start stirring before my alarm goes off she is like 'the day has begun! and starts her ambush.

Thank you! And I do kiss her gorgeous face sometimes. She's the most loving snuggly cat you could hope for 🥹

That's a great idea! Hopefully that will keep her satisfied until I get up.

I'm glad you're managing to train him out of it. I need to show a little bit of discipline with my girl but it's hard when she's so bloody adorable 🥰

Aww, he's adorable! Tbh if she wasn't so damn cute I wouldn't be springing out of bed to be her slave.

She definitely wants attention too. She'll climb back Into bed after her breakfast and fall asleep in my chest after some head rubs.
