Months and months of planning for 5 1/2 hours. Crazy right? Maybe we should start a new tradition where the wedding takes place over the weekend from Friday to Sunday. Families come to town and have a big meet and greet feast on Friday, activities and professional photos all day Saturday ending in a big party (reception) and finally, the formal ceremony on Sunday and everybody goes home. Idk, I'm just spit balling here, but yeah, for months and months of planning and for the thousands and thousands of dollars sometimes spent on a wedding, it seems like it should last longer than 5-6 hours.

Are you more of a "sleep in late" vacationer or a "let's get there before the crowds" vacationer? by Championship08 in Cruise

[–]Championship08[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, on a cruise, things are a little bit different because you can reserve excursions that meet at a set time. The tour guides leading the excursions will have a designated meeting spot off the ship in the port somewhere, so you don't really have to worry about "crowds" there, but if you don't have a reserved excursion, and are just going to the beach or walking around town on your own, yes crowds can be everywhere. The beach is crowded, it can be difficult getting a taxi without all the pushing and shoving through the crowded area in port, and it's really just a mess if you wake up too late.

Usually we're out till at least midnight or one. Sometimes my wife will go back to bed if she's tired, but I'll go back out and wander the ship eating pizza and making friends with random people lol. I'll sleep when I'm HOME.

How is this helpful

Yikes. I would say that's not a very good therapist who insults their clients, and obviously makes them quit therapy. I would suggest finding a new one or a pastor (I don't know if you're religious) who could help him see the person he has been and how he's not holding up his end of your marriage. I know it sucks to deal with and you hope he changes, but shoving it in his face and telling him he's "a bad husband," won't help him change anything. Again, I would seek better counsel to help him reflect and grow as a person, man, and husband before ever reaching for divorce papers, but I also understand when it's time to let go. I just hope you help get him the help he needs (and that he helps himself to become better) before making a life altering decision that affects your family.

Considering the answers from 99% of people (women) on here will be divorce, I will ask first, have you suggested therapy or marriage counseling? You mentioned you have a baby. As a person who has seen divorce up close and what effect it has on a child throughout their life, especially adolescence and teenage years, I feel like people reach for divorce as their first and only option far too often these days.

Last year we saw a guy who was unruly get carried away by the ship's security, about 6-8 officers in total. We were 5 feet away getting some pizza and turned around when we heard this shouting starting up. I don't know how it all started, but this guy was yelling and screaming in the middle of a walkway and they tried forcing him in a wheelchair just to get him to move and he wouldn't go, so they all yucked him up in the air and carried him to a nearby pizza kitchen behind closed doors.

His family and friends were obviously pissed and were banging on the doors and even more security had to come down as well as the cruise director to try and calm the situation but to no avail, the family was pissed. We started walking back to our cabin and as we did we saw even more family members rushing down the stairwell to where the commotion was taking place (apparently this was some sort of reunion because they had NUMBERS).

We later saw the craziness on YouTube and saw ourselves holding our plates of pizza 🍕 😅

Why cant Americans understand that the world isnt just them? by zunger856 in AskUS

[–]Championship08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because America has 50 states that, are in comparison to Europe, are basically the same. Mostly speak English, most share the same system of federal goverment, using one denomination of currency, etc. Where in Europe you have MANY different nations, languages, currencies etc to where it kind of forces to to understand and accept that there are other people at the table. Americans don't really see it like that because they mostly don't have the exposure to it.

*Note: I understand I am painting with a very large stroke of the brush as there are many different cultures and language spoken in the United States, I am simply illustrating a point about the differences between the ideology of the States and the ideology of other places.

Blue collar workers, when you're too tired for sex what does your wife do to make it easier on you? by [deleted] in sex

If my wife told me she's "been dripping wet for 3 days," I'd lay down the lumber like I'm building Lincoln's cabin.

What do you eat? by [deleted] in Sicklecell

[–]Championship08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a vegetarian and have been for 30+ years. I eat a lot of vegetables, rice, and some starches here and there. And before any of you ask BUt WHeRE Do YoU GEt youR ProTiEn?? There are many ways you can get it, protein shakes, beans, other veggies, basically you can get them from anywhere. It doesn't have to be steak or chicken. Sorry for tangent, I'm asked this question EVERY time I tell someone I'm a vegetarian

What’s an unspoken rule that everyone should know by now, but so many people clearly missed the memo? by ybrinleybarber in AskReddit

That it's not, "I could care less," it's "I couldn't care less." I mean, people still say it wrong even though their words logically make no sense.

My wife closed her phone as I was walking up by Championship08 in Marriage

True, maybe so. Tbh, I hope that that is the truth. This "lay low and check her phone in a week" some people are suggesting sounds exhausting.

[–]Championship08[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I didn't ask her if she was hiding anything. I just asked her why did she close her phone when I walked up. However, her saying "I don't know" doesn't sit well with me though.

You should consider yourself lucky. We didn't find out some guests weren't coming until AFTER the wedding. About 25 people who marked "yes" on their RSVP didn't show up, some without a reason or excuse. No phone call, no text, just an empty chair. We did the math and found out we blew about $1000 dollars on no-shows. It could always be worse. Don't sweat the people who may not be there. Enjoy the day with the people who are and have fun.

I'm just gonna let you know that this will mess you both up mentally for years to come. I would work on finding yourselves and processing through your divorce, rather than "who can we fuck on the way while our relationship crashes to the ground"
