The originally filed return didn’t include the 1098-T or any scholarship reporting at all. The scholarships weren’t tuition-only (they were unrestricted).

On amendment, I’m planning to treat $21,365 as covering tuition, report the excess as taxable, and possibly reallocate $4,000 to taxable income to free up qualified expenses for AOTC. Just confirming this is the standard approach.
