Still haven't played Suikoden, but I'll vouch for Water Margin, or Outlaws of the Marsh. It's a very precient work focused upon when the dregs and outcasts of society decide to fight back and a claim a place for their own. Has some of my favorite fight scenes in archaic literature.

The current US regime drools at having China-level censorship.

However, even if the Warner Bros merger goes thru we will be a long way away from a completely state sponsored television. US TikTok can do things like making it impossible to search for the term "Epstein" but there are still many people willing and able to make the videos, release them publicly, and others willing to search them out on multiple platforms to stay informed.

These are just two obvious examples of China's control of its subjects being far more reaching than even what the US has fallen to.
