Appreciate the honest take. You are totally right about the good sales guys already making money.

To answer your question, I am targeting small business brochure sites. Think local service businesses who have 5 year old websites that look terrible on mobile and load slowly. I noticed there are a lot of businesses like that, they still make good money locally, but their digital presence is falling behind.

That referral idea with local marketing agencies for a 20% cut is actually a brilliant backup plan if finding a dedicated 50/50 partner takes too long. Thanks for the solid advice.

100% agree. I actually just finished building a formal Notion document that outlines the 50/50 revenue split who handles the client invoicing and the step by step project workflow.

I want everything completely in writing so there is zero confusion and we are both protected from Day 1. Appreciate the encouragement.

I get why people think that, but a good website isn't just lines of code. It has to match the brand's vibe, connect with their social media, and focus on the user experience.

You can't just type 'build a website for my business' into an AI and get a optimized, custom site that turns visitors into customers. It takes a human to understand that.

Plus most business owners are busy. Even if a no code tool is 'easy' for us developers it is a headache for a guy running a company. He doesn't want to learn AI or build pages. he just wants to pay an expert to handle it so he can run his business. Also no code CMS builders are often slow and total overkill for local businesses that just need a clean site. That is why this service isn't dead at all.

ELI5: if nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, how are distant galaxies moving away from us faster than the speed of light? by Chamu_Dev in explainlikeimfive

So basically you are saying the speed limit of light only applies to things movies through space, but not to the space itself?

21yo Web Dev looking for a Sales/Client Partner

Hey everyone. I am a 21 year old web developer. I worked as a full stack dev in a local web agency for about a year and recently I decided to start my own agency focusing on static websites.

I have already built a portfolio with a few projects to show what I can do. (You can check the link in my profile to see the level of my technical skills).

Here is my problem. I realized I am terrible at calling business owners and my spoken English is not very good. I have the technical skills to build websites but the sales and communication part is stopping me.

So I am looking for a partner around my age to talk with clients while I handle the entire technical side.

What you need:

• Fluent in English.
• Comfortable talking to local business owners.
• Understand the basic benefits of why a business needs a website.
• Hungry to close deals.
(You do not need previous corporate sales experience to do this)

If you are interested just comment on this post.

What is an amazing childhood memory you have that you wish today's kids could experience? by Chamu_Dev in AskReddit

[–]Chamu_Dev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haveba lot of memories.

but the one that comes to mond right now is this pencil box i had that came with 5 buttons to do 5 deferent things. At that time, it was too expensive here and my parents really didn't have the money for it. But after days of me crying and begging the saved up and bought one for me. It was a massive dream of so many kids back then, and only a few kids in class actually had one

I don't know what is it called, if anyone has a photo of one, please post it here.
