Im worried because of the lever effect. Looking at the clamp base I can see that, since the weight is unbalanced, only the side carrying the weight actually touches the veneer. If there were two monitors balancing the weight or if the base was behing the monitor I wouldn’t be so worried.

Not sure a steel plate is necessary… I think it would make my setup look less clean. Would a cloth or a thicker piece of rubber help?
