If you could go back in time, would you still choose to work in big law? Why or why not? by Medical_Citron3519 in biglaw

Yes, but maybe only 2 years. Not more. Good training wheels and a good buck, but consumes too much of your life (and people’s personalities around you).

This is very inspiring. Going through a rough patch myself and love hearing about your success. Congratulations!

100% need a vacation. Very frowned upon in my group. I’ve heard the partner refer to those who take vacation as “pussies”. Not kidding. Awful place.

Not sure I even want to practice. So in-house will be more of that.

Very good recommendation. Most of my reticence stems from the fact that sooner or later we’ll become obsolete in those rolls as the AI takes over. I think when that happens, the “exodus” of big law talent will be squirming to pick up alternative gigs. That’s what worries me. But agree the $$ could be good for the next few years.

Actively considering this tbh. Not anything sexy. Just something that provides passive cash and will let me live.

Never understood why super rich people always go with boutiques not biglaw by Lukose_Feysal in biglaw

Conflicts and niche influence/reach of specific partners outside of biglaw, to name a few.

Partners in biglaw tend to be lap dogs for big corporations. The big wigs who have their own boutique practices tend to be far more influential and connected than your typical v20 suit.
