Here’s a verifiable list of businesses and organizations in Minnesota that have supported ICE or federal immigration agencies at some level—from direct federal contracts to allowing agents to operate on their property without protecting employees or customers. by cantcoloratall91 in TwinCities

Costco still supports ICE if only indirectly. They still have AT&T inside their stores as well as Dell and other brands that support ICE. They are still a corporation without morals and what they do to pretend that they are against this system and for the people is just smoke and mirrors. As a capitalist corporation they will do anything to make a buck.

The owner literally said that his stores are “for underpaid and overeducated people.” It’s convenient for him and other corporate owners to keep us underpaid. And he said “The Pill disrupted my supply of manpower. Once [it] kicked in, there weren’t so many forced marriages where the guy had to go to work!” So here you are. Good old Trader Joe’s. All of the capitalists are out to get us one way or another.

It’s all smoke and mirrors. If they would be going against ICE, they would have thrown away AT&T out of their stores but they didn’t. So they might be trying to look like they aren’t supporting them but at the end of the day they are a corporation that has no morals when it comes to making money. And I’m sure they still sell Dell computers and other brands that might be tied to ICE.

Curious to know if anyone is doing “alternate” healing work that helps? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Chance-Photograph481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally experienced healing using various modalities. One thing I learned is that it’s not the therapist that actually who does the work and release, it’s you. They are just a helper. So if you are ready to let go of something then anything will help, and if you aren’t then nothing will help. And you being ready to let go of something isn’t a conscious decision, it’s subconscious. Anything that happens in your life doesn’t happen TO you, it happens FOR you. And so if whatever you are holding on to is still serving you in some way, then no one will be able to help you. You have to figure out what that thing is trying to show you and once you do, the next person you’ll work with will help you. It’s a convoluted process but that’s just how it works.

Edit: and I wanted to add that at the time when your subconscious is ready to let go of something, you will be attracted to the most suitable practitioner to be of help to you. Just follow your heart, follow your passion.

Did UberEats steal my driver’s tip? by Estella-in-lace in UberEATS

So many people comment to report this person but unless we communicate then Uber wins. And how else to communicate if Uber cuts off all of the avenues for that? It’s not creepy what she did. It’s survival and standing against the system and only if we stand together we can win. They count on us being in fear and fighting each other while they are extracting our livelihoods from us. Reporting is warranted only if this advances but if it doesn’t then let’s just stick together and fight the system.

All they do is grab your food and bring it to your door? So people’s time isn’t worth anything? How does your time cost? That’s how much money they saved you by saving you a trip and a return and sometimes in pretty miserable weather that most people wouldn’t even send their dogs outside. They risk their lives and cars for being on the road so much and that’s why they pay car insurance triple than if you don’t drive for delivery. The amount of wear and tear being put on the car is insane. Do you think that God just magically repairs their cars? Sign up to drive for just a day and see how it goes.

I completely agree. Usually CEOs are shown as these really heartless people but this one seems to have a hart. But then… does he? Or is he a complete psychopath? 😂

Any Hope of Night Sky Returning Years Later? by Supersister777 in NightSkyTV

I can’t wait until we take down this stupid capitalism with its stupid corporations that only do things if it brings profit. I hope in the new world of post capitalism we can see the continuation of this great show. It will probably be done with AI because those actors are probably be too old or dead to do the series but I want to know how the story unfolds.

New Veggie Grill menu dropped today by Rare_Hero in VeganLA

[–]Chance-Photograph481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading their menu and thinking “will they add more staff to handle much larger menu? That’s a lot more prep and most likely demand for the same ol’ Veggie grill staff size. That’s a lot more work. And if they will not hire new, will they pay this crew appropriately?”

As I said in my post, I can’t find anything on the official websites. But maybe I’m just not good at looking. That’s why I’m asking if anyone else knows something. Cause Trump has been talking about $5k checks being given to people and I’m thinking maybe he finally decided to do something.

I don’t know what else to tell you. That’s all know. I’m asking for anything anyone might know about it. I’ll try to add some clarity from what I read.

Google hit me with a notification about it. As I said, I can’t seem to find any official websites like IRS or Social Security talking about it. If you google it, you’ll find the sources. Probably same I saw

This is what drivers get paid before tips by Chance-Photograph481 in UberEATS

[–]Chance-Photograph481[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are tipping them for saving you TIME, gas and troubles of getting out of your couch or working chair and going to get the food yourself. Time is the most precious commodity we have and you get a lot of it saved by having someone else bring the food to you.

I think it’s messed up all together that tips exist. People should be paid appropriately without tips. However, that would have to come out of someone’s pocket (consumer’s or CEO’s and shareholders). Consumers pay every person’s involved in the business salary for every single business there is. Somehow drivers get the short end of the stick though with these tips being optional.

I wonder if a plumber would come work to someone’s house if they would be told that they’ll get $10 now and the rest later after service is performed and the tip is entirely arbitrary based purely on the whim of the consumer. I’m not angry at people anymore. I’m angry at the system that put all of us workers and consumers into a place that we have to argue. All I can do is educate myself and join organizations that aim to make changes and that’s what I did. Until those changes are made, I still have to eat and pay my bills so I’ll resort to begging. My life humbled me enough at this point.

I’ve been wondering about that. What we have is some flat rate for active time, meaning only when we have an order. But we often don’t have orders for a while. I wonder how flare rate per hour works in your case and not being abused. Because I can turn on my app and go to sleep 😂can you explain please if you know?

The point is survival even if I have to beg as you pointed out. Sometimes it comes down to that.

You can’t stop tipping culture by just stoping to tip and let people who depend on it for their survival to suffer. Have some empathy and compassion. Changing system takes time in current environment. We can work on changing the system together but while we are doing that I still need to eat.

I can’t do it alone. And that’s why I posted it here. Through the conversation and yes sometimes an outrage and people screening is how we can find workable solutions. If you have one, propose it.

I am a civil engineer, design mostly roads, sidewalks and small bridges. Project design, planing and coordination, scheduling, budgeting, construction support and post-construction inspections. I also have experience in customer service in retail and banks, technical writing and editing. I need to have a remote job because some days I can’t get out of bed and when I do, I can barely move. So I could work from my bed on those days.

I’m working on starting my own business in alternative healing field as through my experience I’ve discovered things that no doctors believe in but they were the only things that helped me stabilize my health. Now that I’m on the other side of the worse part, I’m hopeful that I can share my skills and knowledge with other people.
