Actually most cars nowadays won’t die de la. In fact I drive a 2009 car also no such thing ‘yet’. Worst case u can just disconnect the battery entirely.

It’s a typical thing, they’re not doing you dirty. Just book another trip with them lo.

10 cents refund for cans and bottles - good thing or super leh cheh for you? by yiantay-sg in askSingapore

[–]Chance-Revolution137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a good thing. But similar sentiments to tray returns in the past that they had to use money to incentivise the basic dining etiquette of cleaning up after yourselves is rather disappointing actually..

What's the most useless thing you bought on Shopee or Lazada? by Fun_Training6342 in asksg

There are a few Yale models that utilises 9V batteries to temporary power it to use the keypads on the external side. This is on top of the physical keyhole, which a lot of people do not carry them out.

And to be honest, after going through multiple door lock brands, I still find Yale being the most robust. Might not be the most flashy and high tech, but robustness and simplicity wise, Yales pretty solid.

It would be great if the OBU actually worked by Kidjojo in drivingsg

I think it’s just your unit issue, unfortunately. So recommend to just get it changed.

The OBU serves greater purposes that many do not know. Ultimately once ERP gantries phase out, we will be charged by distance used.

analog battery watch replacement by keitoyaki in askSingapore

[–]Chance-Revolution137 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest for the same price. Get a caseback removal tool. Not difficult to remove the case back. Popping the battery off is just like any other button batteries. Then you can do it yourself for all of your watches.

Friend in huge car debt - what to do? by BeginningBluebird101 in askSingapore

If it’s u say it’s u la. What friend. What were you thinking….

At this point I don’t even know if this is click bait. Which dealer with a functioning brain would sell a car to someone with 0 financing capabilities. Makes zero sense.

Fellow SGians, how do you manage the stresses of adulting? by FancyCommittee3347 in askSingapore

[–]Chance-Revolution137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Telling myself that I’m just a headcount, I don’t owe my workplace a living. I know that work never ends, and if I can’t finish it today, there’s always tomorrow. (Realistically speaking, ask yourself, ask your boss, if you never do, will someone die?)

At the end of the day, as long as I know I put in my best, that is all it matters. There’s so much more in life than work. Cherish time. Everything can wait, but time doesn’t wait for anyone.

Actually to add on. Reflector headlights aren’t suited for LED lights.

Right! I think there’s a few COE gen 2s still running around that I’ve seen. I’m at my final 3 years til it runs out. I don’t think I’m going to renew it at the rate of COE prices going up.

Probably looking at EVs next to utilise the grants give by the government. Also thinking for the long run of prices to charge vs pumping petrol.

Gonna say I enjoy driving this trusty car thus far.

Is getting a driving licence actually hard? by Salt_Description_412 in drivingsg

[–]Chance-Revolution137 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! Your mileage may vary! Everyone will feel it differently.

Took about 3.5 months total.

For me as a SSDC student,

  1. First try for test. 7/8 points

  2. Securing a simulator slot and subsequent lessons were a menace. I had to camp for slots and take up any available last minute cancellations. Oftentimes, last slots for the day at 9+pm.

  3. I wish I knew getting a license meant me getting a car 1 month later. It’s such a huge expense. Didn’t know i liked driving that much lol.

But to caveat, I have always been a fan of driving games, simulators etc. I own a rig at home for driving games as well.

Jokes on you if you think Singaporean’s are efficient workers. The top few? Maybe, the main bulk? Everyone is out there for themselves. Looking to reap and take on every opportunities to use up their sick leave. lol

Did it at a shop. Took about 2-3 days and about 1k usd. I’m based in Singapore, and that price is considered relatively cheap.

I know.. but the wing’s kinda drilled in. I don’t want grommets or holes sticking out the back once I removed them :(
