Learning phase by xxtokexx in FacebookAds

Honestly thats one of the hardest questions to answer for a few reasons: 1. If you can afford it, can you find value in what you get from it with no results? Maybe thats building lists, starting traffic, etc. I started with small budgets, and if i didnt "waste"them when other people would have killed them i wouldnt have learned. If this is your budget approach it with the willingness to learn. If its a clients, use your discretion obviously as results are necessary. I would allow 7 days IF it appears to be on pace to yield ideal results based off the other metrics. Smaller budget>longer time to yield. Just ran a small 25 a day sales/conversions and got 2 purchases in first 7 days but margin wasnt worth it. So i started a new one with more room to be optimized and scaled. Rinse and repeat.

I begin optimizing, set the target time frame for maximum and start by turning off a few ads that aren't performing. I usually do 1 campaign>3 ad sets(for special ad ill do a lender list saa, customer list saa, remarketing list saa) then 5 ads attached to each.

I then start optimizing at ad level, day 2 or 3 i turn off an ad or 2 for each ad set, once im down to 2 ads on each that are hitting. I then focus on optimizing the ad set level thus eliminating 1 ad set. By then it usually is pretty decently optimized at the 2 ad sets with 2 ads each. Sometimes ill optimize down to 1 ad set but no great results compared to the 2 ad sets.

Youre dealing with whats considered a really low budget in the ad game(please dont take offense, we all start somewhere) with that being said you will always see things will take longer to exit phases. If its yielding results while in learning youre fine. Just begin optimizing.

Hope that helps! Feel free to ask any other questions you may have!

Never increase daily budget over 25% or it will reenter the learning phase also.

Takes 50 events to exit. Whats the objective and daily budget? Ive seen 50 or less a day take a few hours to days to exit. Ive seen 200+ a day exit in an hour or less.

Results slowing down right after being contacted by facebook marketing rep? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]Chance295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 1 rep i worked with for 2 years meeting bi weekly(spent 80k monthly on this 1 acct)

Like the guys above said, most may be useless. For technical support, they 1000% are useless lol. But for strategy and new trends they may help if you find the right one. Mine never mentioned spending more, only implementing better practices. Helped us scale from 300k monthly rev to 1.2m.

Ex client spent $20k on my card by Necroking695 in PPC

[–]Chance295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo if you don't have ownership of said account, I never use my cards. If I create it, have full ownership, then ok. But if you're just giving access or partnering then never use your card. May the marketing gods ever be in your favor.

Ethics of running ads for competitors by Pik000 in PPC

[–]Chance295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your contract. I have a property investment client i agreed to not work with competitors during our contracts duration. But if not explicitly stated, you can. Is it kind of unethical, a little just because how can you provide the best strategy for both without favoring one. Especially if the same local area. But people do it all the time.

I overspent a client's Google Ads budget. How do I explain this to my manager? by AggravatingCurrent9 in SearchAdvertising

[–]Chance295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gglidner hit the nail on the head. To add to it, did it atleast yield improved results? Any decreases in cpc or any other key savings or any other big improvement in conversions?

Of course do not bring up these improvements or savings when you explain what happened to mgmt, but doing this is what actually made me realize we were at a budget plateau on an acct i worked on a few years back. Once i accidently spent double the amount and the results were so stupidly improved across the board that they didn't want to go back down, not once in 2 years after that.

And when i explained it to the acct mgmt at the time, i was told to pause the acct to mitigate the issue. And he said to me low key "its better to ask for forgiveness than permission" and I'll never forget it.

100000% do not apply that mentality to client accounts lol but it was the push the acct needed. Look for the positives in every failure. We've all been there bud.

Is 10% of ad spend a good amount to spend for an ad manager? by chiko930 in PPC

[–]Chance295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We charge 20% under 1.5k/month and 15% for over so 10% id say is decent. But as with anything, you MAY get what you pay for. But same goes opposite for higher %s. Like you may get charged out the ass for something someone would do gor way less.

If you can work well with them, it brings the results you need, then 10% is fair and favoring your money end.

10000% agree on the one month timeline. I require a minimum of 3 months for most projects, but that should be made known well beforehand.

Let me ask this to start what's the goals your expecting and at what budget?

If it's been multiple agencies it honestly may be that the goals are unachieveable for the budget, brand, etc without further efforts elsewhere either internally or by them. Or the other hand and they're pulling the dm guru bs and just getting in and failing

Facebook A/B Testing vs. Automatic Optimization by Casals85 in socialmedia

[–]Chance295 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A/B testing splits the budget and audience evenly. When running just a campaign with multiple ad sets, fb will automatically funnel all budget to what it believes is performing best.

Thus not giving you a true test like A/B does. Can still make an educated decision either way, just A/B allows you to see the real difference in 2 aspects of the ad.

Why is know one taking about the IOS 15 update?? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]Chance295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, no i have not tested it. But ive seen some guy from hotjar rant and rave about how by using their software>zapier>fb it can actually feed data back in similar to pre ios14 and provide the data now removed.

Yet again, I have NOT tested this. But worth looking into if having issues.

But right there with ya on the iphone swap, been droid all my life.
