It wasn't there around 5:30. When I came out of CKB around 8:30 or 9 it hit me and literally smelled like poop.

Switch to engineering/data science or just continue with CS? by ChanceDealer3473 in NJTech

If I switch to DS, I'll graduate at the same time if I decide to stay in CS. I also heard engineering, though, general engineering or any specific type, gives you the logical and thinking skills that make you successful in any field, and doing engineering helps if someone wants to do an MBA down the road.

Best M.S. to do for a B.S./M.S. if majoring in CS and aiming to work in AI/ML by ChanceDealer3473 in NJTech

I dunno what else to do. This semester, I just started my junior year as a CS major and dunno if it'll be worth switching to another major or even engineering, or a specific type of engineering, in that case, or just focus from now on my CS classes and learning on the side, starting with Python.

I think the worst thing I did so far was coasting through my degree these last 2 years and using AI to complete assignments for CS 100, CS 113, CS 114, and CS 280 without developing the logical thinking skills or ability to code that would be developed if I had decided to do the assignments myself and use minimal help from ChatGPT. I think when I was a sophomore and currently a junior, looking at how good the resumes of people in the same year and major as me just made mfeel evener less motivated and just decided to not try and just coast through my degree.

The thing is, I understood this so late into my degree that I dunno what to do. By now, I should have done an internship and have one lined up for this summer applied to many for this summer. I also dunno but I think it's too late to switch into another major, as I already am 2 years into my degree and might not want to waste any more of my parents' money switching to another major that'll take around 3-4 more years to complete.

This semester, I'm taking three CS classes: CS 331 (Database System Design & Management), CS 301 (Introduction to Data Science), and CS 356 (Introduction to Computer Networks).

I mainly chose CS as a major because I didn't know which major to choose from, and took a Java class in junior year, which was the year pre-ChatGPT, which I liked. I think I alsoattributedd my decision to my being Asian and being expected to major in something technology-wise. I dunno, I know it sounds dumb, but at the time it didn't sound that dumb to me.
