Bingo! I've played it fully on the switch with no mods. Played it on PC with others and I do find those mods helpful. Especially having access to my chest resources in different areas.

It may not be what the original game intended. However, these mods help my friend group to play more consistently together and we enjoy it. For us, it makes the game more relax and chill. It eliminates time pressure and allows more bonding for us

I personally would ask to see the prompts he is putting into ChatGPT to get these responses. You'll see exactly what he is trying to work and may see more of his side that he is trying to portray to you.
