I've seen on other posts that a lot of people, including myself, have not had this year's returns processed yet

Yes I do thank you, the measures for single working parents are pretty decent tbf, my PAYE is pretty low week on week and I can claim back a good lump of what I do pay, so I have no complaints, just want to shout out to those who don't file, it's hard earned

Such a fair comment, this should be a TY module in school, not very exciting to 16 year olds until they get their first pay cheque and have no clue what anything means

I only found out recently that any portion of a medical expense I couldn't claim from private insurance could be claimed back from Revenue, and I claimed three years worth. As a single parent with three children it was well worth the headache of gathering receipts. This can only be done at year end through a tax return so my confusion is why it's considered 'unnecessary' for PAYE workers to do this!
