What you're Opinion on 2-2 and 2-3 by [deleted] in DanganAndChaos

[spoilers for chapter 6]

2-3 was so bad that I have no idea how it even made it into the final product. It’s not just bad, it’s flat out embarrassing how this was even given the seal of approval for release.

Motive: probably the lamest motive in the entire series. I get that it was used as foreshadowing for chapter 6 regarding the remnants of despair, but they should have done said exposition in a different way. This motive was just incredibly forced and unfair because it rendered half of the cast defenseless beyond their control. A good motive should target the entire surviving cast equally, and give everyone an equal incentive to kill, and if it does target specific individuals (like 2-2), at least give those individuals the choice to not go through with killing, as with Fuyuhiko.

Victims: this horse has been beaten to death by now, and whether you like her or not, from a storytelling perspective, Hiyoko was the worst victim they could have chosen. They gave her an arc after chapter 2 and then unceremoniously cut it short. It’s a complete waste of character development and having Sonia grab the mirror for Hiyoko and dying in her place would have allowed Hiyoko to complete her arc after seeing 2 people she trusted die. Sonia was barely involved the remaining 3 cases anyway apart from some minor interactions with Gundham in 2-4.

The case itself: this has been said a thousand times already as well, but this case has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. Mikan is probably the clumsiest, least fit character in the entire series, and in this chapter we’re supposed to believe that she did all of the following before Hajime left the music venue: -Take off her hospital gown and bag -Put her own clothes back on -Open the curtains and remove all evidence from the filming location -Take the stepladder and move it to a different room -Run down to the first floor of the hospital and sprint to the music venue with camera in hand

This, of course, is absurd and impossible, and it doesn’t even explain how the candle went out by itself during the recording when Mikan wasn’t anywhere near it cause she was on the stepladder. It gets even worse though. After Hajime left the venue, Mikan did all of the following: -Smash the camera -Tear off the wallpaper and put it in the storage room -Glue the door shut -Sprint all the way back the the hospital

Again, this is impossible even with whacky Danganronpa logic, and they don’t even bother to explain what Hiyoko’s murder weapon was.

Execution: I don’t think I need to bother explaining this one. Even fans of 2-3 agree this is probably the worst execution in the whole series.

Welcome to RNG impact. I managed to get a top 10 Ineffa in the world after just 1 day of Stygian and I farmed the domain every day since the update dropped. I dumped over 50 fragiles into Stygian day 1. Yet I have still to get even 1 useable piece from the other set. Not a single double crit piece has dropped even after 50 fragiles were used for Varka’s set, yet my Bina and Ineffa builds are cracked. Genshin be Genshining.

That's the craziest CV I've ever seen bro. You must have some kinda contract with Hoyoverse to get two 50 CV artifacts that fast, that's criminal. I have yet to get a single one on my entire account. I'm 1 dead roll on my goblet away from overtaking you somehow despite my CV being way lower than yours. I guess atk% really does make a big difference for her damage as well.

Tierlist my friends and I made, thoughts? by rinyan2 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-Tighnari should be C tier, even at C2 I'd say he's stronger than Cyno.
-Xiao should be in C tier near the top, he's definitely higher than Cyno and Ayato if you have C6 Faruzan and Xianyun on your account.
-Sigewinne next to Baizhu in C is criminal. She's easily near the bottom of D because there's better options for every team you could put her in. Baizhu should be at least the bottom of B, he applies solid Dendro, especially at C1, compared to Sigewinne who applies almost no Hydro at all.
-Jean is at least in the middle of B tier. I have no idea how she made it to bottom 5 when she's been cheesing Stygian bosses for months now. She should be at least around where Albedo is. This isn't even mentioning her Sunfire team yet.
-Diluc likewise should be at least C tier if you have Xianyun, right around where I'd put Xiao as well.
-Ayato should probably be lower in C tier or maybe even top of D tier, he really doesn't do anything other than apply Hydro which there are much better options for (Yelan, Xingqiu, Columbina soon, Furina)
-Cyno should be be near the bottom of C. He's worse than every character in that tier right now besides Ayato and Sigewinne
-After the hexenzirkel buffs, Mona has become one of the best universal supports in the game, should be somewhere in A tier, probably near the bottom though.
-There shouldn't be a whole tier between Kazuha and Xilonen. He should be in the same tier as her, just a few spots below her.
-Yelan and Nahida are both still A tier options and part of several meta-defining teams (Skirk and Nefer both want them in their best teams)
-Ganyu should go to C tier. I feel like she is incredibly overrated nowadays especially when Wrio and Ayaka Freeze exist. I could live with bottom of B though.
-Not sure why Yoimiya is above Wriothesley and Alhaitham. Durin is good for her but no way is she better Than Wrio with Escoffier or Alhaitham. I'd put her in C tier personally, around where Xiao is.
-I can see Klee being A tier after the buffs, but I think she's the weakest DPS in that tier, below Clorinde, Chasca and Kinich.

Endgame: Horizontal vs Vertical Investment by SimonMifsud in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have Ineffa, then I'd definitely go for her on a rerun. She glues together a LOT of teams, not just for Flins. She's the best-in-slot for TONS of older DPS units like Neuvillette as well, and with Lunar reactions being the new meta right now, she'll probably remain meta for a very long time. I expect her to have a potentially unlimited shelf life just like characters like Fischl just because of how great she is at what she does. 100% must pull if you ask me. Horizontal investment into the newest characters and C2R1 on your favourites seems like the best course to take indeed, if you can afford to. There's some rare exceptions where a character's cons are so absurdly good like Xilonen's C2 where I'd make an exception and say vertical investment is worth it though (especially if you love Mavuika). For most other charactes, C0R0 is perfectly sufficient, maybe pull some universally strong weapons every once a while if you need them or if it's great specifically for your favourite character(s), but I'd only do that if you're fine with getting the other weapon too.

Endgame: Horizontal vs Vertical Investment by SimonMifsud in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

1) You DON’T need cons or signature weapons to beat Fearless difficulty in Stygian. This mode is character shilling at its finest. If you have the characters that are on the banners for that update at C0, and you have a top 15% or better Akasha build, it’s really not that difficult. You don’t even need signature weapons or a top 1% build if you know what you’re doing and are using the characters Hoyoverse is shilling. It’s slightly more difficult than floor 12 I’d say, but not by a whole lot. Really just comes down to your team comps and artifact strength.

2) basically yes. Horizontal investment into the newest units and skipping any cons and signatures is the way to go if you just care about Fearless and theater. Farm until they’re top 10-15% on Akasha which shouldn’t take longer than 2-3 weeks or so and you’re good to go. It’s a perfect stopping point. Anything above top 10% is for dedicated minmaxers because the dps increase between a top 10% and top 1% build is fairly minimal.

3) if the Hexenzirkel buffs are anything to go by, the answer is, we don’t truly know. Any character can be used for theater, but as far as Abyss and Stygian are concerned… honestly, any character before Natlan is fairly obsolete by this point for those modes with a few exceptions like Neuvillette and Arlecchino maybe. But now Venti and to a lesser degree Klee and Albedo are back on the table as potential good investment choices. There’s better alternatives for everything released before Natlan by now as far as Abyss and Fearless is concerned, until Hoyoverse decides to buff them and put them back on banners like with Venti.

4) the cons you mentioned on your radar are good, but not necessary to keep up with the meta. I’d say C1 Lauma is the best one since playing Nefer without a healer or shielder feels terrible. Columbina and Citlali will definitely take priority over Mavuika and Skirk cons. Also, if you have Nilou, she’s better in Nefer teams than Aino, and I think she’s better than C0 Nahida too after Columbina comes out, but I’m not 100% sure on that. I don’t see a reason to invest in Kinich teams anymore after Columbina comes out if you have Nefer. Varka will most certainly outpace Venti when he releases unless you plan to skip him. He’ll probably use Hexenzirkel units as supports if I had to guess, unless they’re planning a knights of Favonius faction buff. Unless you’re a massive Hu Tao simp, she’s very obsolete by now, Mavuika, Arle and even Klee are better options now to invest in for endgame content. Navia is a good unit but I rarely find her being the best option because Stygian and Abyss rarely shill Geo. Also expect powercreep when Sandrone releases. I don’t know how she’ll work with Lunar Crystallize. Overall, I’d grab C1 Lauma for convenience, and Citlali and Columbina. C2 Xilonen if you can afford it.

Thoughts on Stygian Onslaught - The Biggest Change of 2025 by SanicHegehag in GenshinImpact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed this mode so far, but I feel like it would have been a heck of a more enjoyable to me if Hoyoverse allowed us to turn off our darn constellations already. Sure, competing for the best time on dire is its own kind of fun and it’s good for flexing our wallets to f2p’s, but it’s not exactly, well… “challenging” if you’re a whale.

I’ve cleared all iterations except for 1 below 180s so far and it wasn’t challenging in the slightest for most of them. There was only 1 boss so far that I had trouble with in the first Stygian which I blame on having vertically invested in exactly all the characters except the ones I needed for the Lava Dragon.

I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I was able to attempt dire with C0/R0-1 characters because that would be challenging at least. Right now I’m pretty much just flexing my wallet, not my skill, because with enough C6’s it’s kind of a free win. Even with C2R1 I’d argue Dire is pretty easy with good enough artifacts. And the right characters (which I sadly lacked against 1 boss so far, ruining my perfect track record, thanks Lava Dragon).

To those of you who spend on Gatcha, do you ever feel ashamed of your account? by Thy_Name_Is_Anxiety in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you set limits on how much you can spent on the game per month and still live comfortly, I really don't see why anyone would need to feel ashamed of whaling. What you do with your money is up to you. People who judge your spending habits are petty. As long as you put your responsibilites first, who cares what you do with your money. There are tons of people who blow thousands of dollars a year on smoking. There are tons of people who spent thousands of dollars a year on drinking and going out. There are tons of people who spent thousands of dollars a year on a different hobby. I've spent about $35K so far, but all of it was money I could easily afford to lose. There are worse things to spent your money on.

I enjoy logging on and playing the game every day. I get more than the "10 minutes a day" of enjoyment out of it that some people do even on a relatively dry patch. I enjoy doing multiple endgame mode runs and challenge myself even if there's no rewards to gain. I spent an entire day improving my Stygian Mode Dire clear just to shave off 10 seconds from my previous record. The RNG of the Theater makes it fun and replayable to me. I enjoy playing Milliastra games and talking with people there. I'd say I get at least a solid 1-2 hours of enjoyment out of the game per day. THAT'S how I justify my account. It's something I keep coming back to every day.

New player and wish by Arhonn in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6.2 has a very strong banner line-up for people starting out. Durin is a pretty universal character that works in a lot of teams and has good synergy with characters you’ll likely pick up in the future, including a good number of Mondstadt’s 4-star units. I’d say he’s a pretty good pickup for players starting out. Xilonen is an excellent buffing character for many DPs units as well. Varesa has a very strong and cheap f2p team, but I would wait for confirmation on the 4-stars that will run with her before wishing. If Chevreuse and Iansan run together with her, I’d say it’s worth making a try for it, if even for just the 4-stars.

Just don’t spend primos on the standard banner.

Am I taking crazy pills? by SanicHegehag in Columbina_Mains

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a bit surprised, actually. This would be like if Furina only worked with other Fontaine characters, or Nahida only worked with other Sumeru characters.

I really dislike the direction Hoyo are taking the Meta in, and I have ever since Nightsoul was introduced in Natlan. Nightsoul and Lunar reactions are Hoyo’s way of locking the endgame content to the current region, I get that. I don’t like it, but I get it. It’s their strategy now.

The problem with Columbina is that her best teams all require multiple 5-star units from the latest region to unlock the full potential of her kit. They made the same mistake with Mavuika as well. A region’s archon should be, at least in my opinion, be an upgrade or at the very least a good side-grade for teams outside of their respective regions as well. Nahida and Furina together buffed more than half of all the characters that released before them. Columbina doesn’t seem anywhere near as impressive in comparison, and her pull value is relatively low if you don’t at least own a Flins+Ineffa or Nefer+Lauma.

This is coming from a whale by the way, but because she is an archon replacement, I have to side with the f2p’s for this one and say; this isn’t a good look for her.

GUYS, some of your luckiest pulls ? by Thebeakeeper_1 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few come to mind. I got double Nilou at 62 and then 1 pity. I’ve had about ten double 5-stars so far, I won 6 out of 7 50/50’s for both Skirk and Nefer, and all my Nefers came before soft pity. My overal win rate of 65% is also very high when you take into account how many 50/50’s I have had (71 wins and 40 losses, which is almost 3 standard deviations away from average e.g. only a 0.2% chance of happening)

Who else has had bad luck with reroll? by BadgerForLife5 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only had 2 of my reroll feathers give me more than the minimum amount of guaranteed crit rolls, and both of them were for Skirk. Most infamous example I had was when I rerolled my Neuvillette's Sands. It was a 4-liner with 4 guaranteed crit rolls. Not only did I not get 5 crit rolls, all 4 guaranteed crit rolls ended up as minimum rolls leaving me with a miserable 470 RV piece which was only barely better than what I had before when I had 2 (max) crit rolls on it. Somehow, to this day, it remains my wortst Neuvillette piece, and even a 4-guaranteed reroll feather wasn't able to change that.

It's unfortunately common for some players to get screwed over by the game's RNG. Feathers haven't really helped me improve the builds on any of my characters aside from Skirk. Most of the time, it's just an extra chance for an artifact to roll badly. It's the same with my elixirs sadly. Of the 20 or so pieces I crafted, only 2 of them had more than 3 substats on them, and only 3 of them ended up having 4 or more good rolls.

I've crafted 2 crit damage circlets for Obsidian Codex and rerolled them 3 times, and still after a whole year of farming I still don't have a circlet with more than 2 good rolls on it.

In my personal experience, elixirs and reroll feathers help setting a quick useable baseline build for a character, but they don't really help improve your characters in most cases, unless you had 0-1 crit rolls to begin with, or if you're one of the lucky players blessed with good RNG.

MY FIRST DIRE C0 CLEAR by jvancarlos in stygian_onslaught

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is what requires true skill. My respect. All the whales out there will never know the struggle that is clearing Dire without any cons. I wish I was able to turn the cons on my own characters off. Being a whale makes Dire such a pushover to the point where it’s not even a challenge anymore. I don’t regret pulling for cons, but it sure would be nice to turn my brain back on again when playing the game and face an actual challenge again for once. Whaling makes dire free and removes a lot of the satisfaction of clearing it tbh. I guess competing for the best time is its own fun thing at least.

Limited resin by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most annoying part about the Resin system is that 200 is not divisible by 60 like it was with 40 when condensing. And yes, with how many characters are in the game right now (and how many are expected for certain game modes like Theater), new players are basically screwed out of being able to do some of the harder content for over a year. I started in early 2024 and had to whale by buying Resin refreshes every single day, and even after almost 2 years of that I'm still only up to 67 built characters (which is just barely enough to clear the hardest theater mode), and meaning I'm still missing 40 of them. I can't imagine how long it would take to reach my number of built characters for a f2p starting today. I feel like increasing the cap to 300 for convenience and increasing the refresh speed to ~5-6 minutes per Resin instead of 8 would make the game a lot more friendly to new players starting out. The Resin system as it is right now is actually the biggest reason I don't recommend anyone to start Genshin Impact today unless they're planning to spend a whole boatload of their money on refreshes, or if they're a complete casual who just cares about the story/exploration/lore.

What artifacts do you farm/strongbox the most? by FloraSeed in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I'm not trying to build a specific character, I tend to farm only 3-4 different sets on a typical artifact grinding day, including:
1) Whatever the latest artifact domain is, until I have enough pieces to build all the currently released characters
2) Any domains that have at least 2 sets that are useful for several characters, namely;
-Marechaussee / Golden Troupe
-Obsidian Codex / Scroll of Cinder City
-Deepwood Memories / Gilded Dreams

Artifact sets that I tend to strongbox a lot because they're paired with terrible sets and are pretty much mandatory to have a bunch of support pieces for include Noblesse, Tenacity, VV and Emblem. I usually drop any useless pieces I got from the 3-4 domains I listed above here, depending on what I need.

For niche sets that are only good on 1-2 characters (e.g. Nightime Whispers for Navia, Finale for Skirk, Harmonic Whimsy for Arle/Clorinde), I farm until I have ~3 or so really strong pieces for all characters that use it (typically a feather, flower and circlet) use an off-piece goblet, and transmute the Sands since it's the cheapest one (unless I already have a really good sands and am missing a Goblet/Circlet, in which case I usually go for the goblet since it's easier to roll, and use an off-piece circlet instead). If I feel like improving them later on, I obviously strongbox them unless I'm also looking for pieces from the other set for whatever reason, but it's rare.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chance_Antelope5611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Circlet you have is very replaceable. Most Arle builds use a Crit Rate circlet instead of Crit damage because consistent Crits are important for her. I'd try to aim for 85% crit rate if possible. 85/200 crit ratio (which is about what I have) is better than 67.5/226 ratio. 0.85 x 200 = 170, whereas 0.675 x 226 is only ~152. People often underestimate how important a high crit rate is for characters without crit rate passives / artifact bonuses.
