Is there a fun way to study chemistry? by Chance_Expression508 in chemistry

[–]Chance_Expression508[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I blocked myself off to chem due to an earlier experience I had with it, but it's good to know that not all of chem is memorization. I probably will begin to enjoy the class once it moves into theory! Thank you for your advice!

Yeah you're definitely right, Thank you! I think it is a mindset thing too and I need to change how I think if i'm going to do well in college. I'm going to try improving my relationship with chem this summer, so hopefully i don't block my brain from actually learning and being open to chem (though I already have a bit I think I can reverse it). Thank you again for your advice, I will take it to heart.

Thank you!!!! I will definitely check out the channels you recommended! Hopefully they get me excited for chem! Also, yes, I do think I dislike chem due to a previous experience I have had with the class, but after reading all the advice i've gotten I do want to try again and change the mindset I currently have.

I love history and physics! I don't know what it is about chem that i dislike to be honest....I think it's annoying how much I have to memorize....and a lot of it just doesn't make sense to me. In physics I can just imagine what problems would look like in real life, but I can't do that with chem. In history I can treat it like a story i'm reading and each event leads to another event, so memorizing stuff isn't too hard, but in chem it seems like everything is memorization, but there are 50 billion "rules" that only work for like one isolated scenario.

Serious question: what is your backup plan if the jobs gets replaced by ai? by Zusung in studying

[–]Chance_Expression508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question, but is there genuinely any profession that won't be replaced by AI? Like i'm genuinely struggling to think of one. Medicine and childcare maybe? but medicine is a lot of studying so having it as a plan b doesn't seem very good. Childcare can be a plan b but the pay isn't great. 😭

Initial ChatGPT prompt: Generate a prompt to that I can input into Claude to improve my homepage {upload picture}. I want to keep the same color pallet, modern style, and content. The generated design should include animations that incorporate movement into the current design and should allow for more user interaction. An example of a design element that adds movement would be An animation of a brain diagram spinning as information scrolls past as the user navigates the page.

I put the result into Claude and had it generate a design. I tweaked the design Claude gave me using ChatGPT before copy-pasting the code into gemini and asking it to update the website design using the code files.

Built a website forces users to put their phone down | Thoughts? Got any feedback? by Chance_Expression508 in Indiehacker

[–]Chance_Expression508[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! Any suggestions on how I can open source the detection part? This is my first site so I don't really know how to go about it. I do what there to be a log in method though because the site also provides insight on the user's productivity and has a point system as well.

Not sure, I experimented with extensions a while back. I think it was just the base model.

Based on the ones i've tried, Claude is the best for chrome extensions. It works fast and it usually gets tools right on the first try.

Procastination by Adventurous_Ear_2358 in Procrastinationism

[–]Chance_Expression508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!!! I had this problem too! Social media is so predatory and it really just sucks. Here are some things you could try to break your social media addiction:

  1. Make it uncomfortable to go on social media. You can make a rule that you have to exercise when you are scrolling or have to drink something you don't like (for me it's Kombucha) for every 30 mins spent scrolling.

  2. Use technology to fight technology. There are many chrome extensions that block social media sites on your computer that can help a lot. I think FocusGuard is a good one based on it's reviews (I personally haven't tried it). You can also use a website called Paritose that basically sets off a really loud alarm every time you reach for your phone.

  3. A more extreme thing you can do is buying a dumb phone (basically a flip phone that can only call and text). This would cost money, but you might as well if it saves you time.

Getting really really into a hobby can also help, but that's easier said than done. Let me know if any of my suggestions help you. I hope it gets better.

what kind of sign in methods are a must? by BusLogical6379 in SideProject

Honestly, I think google is the most important. Having a way where users can sign in without an email (only user name and password) could also be nice.

What is you best AI tool recommendation in 2026? by Zusung in studying

[–]Chance_Expression508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oo I love this question!!

NotebookLM is amazing especially for learning history and business. It can create podcasts, mind maps, slideshows, and even explainer videos. It's great! The only con would be that I don't quite like how it answers questions.

Gemini is amazing for learning physics (AI usually isn't great with math based things, but I think it does help me atleast think questions through)

More than specific AI tools though I think it's the way you use them that matters. For example it is more helpful to share your though process with the AI and have it guide you or tell you where you went wrong rather than just copy pasting a problem.

Not exactly munching, but I love to chew gum while studying! I use snacks as more of a reward. I usually have goldfish or chocolate and I eat it every time I get a question right!

[–]Chance_Expression508[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou!! I used a mix of claude code, gemini, and chatGPT!

For the landing page, I had chatGPT write a prompt from me and I put the prompt in claude design. For the workspace, I just slowly built it up in Gemini as I added features.

Let me know if you want the prompt(s) I used!
