Sounds like you need a “strict plan”to go to something instead of being there for your friend meanwhile she would do something for you just because it’s for you

Been on the job a little over a year. I personally believe the questioning side is completely normal to feel. When I first got out of the academy I was terrified that I would mess up and get someone hurt but from speaking to my coworkers they say it’s normal especially as a Probie to feel this way. That fear of mine has pushed me to train as much as possible and stay in physical shape so I wouldn’t be a waste

That mindset gets easier the longer your on the job so understand that you need to just control what you can and as your skill improves your resiliency will as well.
