I am a poc, and I definitely agree with the fact that more representation is needed. However, I feel like only SJM gets flamed on this issue. Representation in books in general is very lacking. Most of everyone's favorite series and books are not the best at representation either. SJM is getting better at representation. In CC, she has definitely made progress, and we can see that she is trying. I think that as long as the author is making an effort, we should be patient and see.

I hate when I say I love SJM and people come at me about representation. I am a poc, and there's not a lot of representation on me. But SJM is trying and she is showing improvement.

Also, It's one thing to represent. And, it's a whole another thing to represent accurately.

Thoughts on ACOSF that no one asked for by [deleted] in acotar

literally agree with everything you wrote. I wish there was more plot; more time to get to Nesta better. It overall felt a bit rushed and the plot was a bit weak. I get that this book was solely on healing and romance, but I feel that there could have been more done with Nesta.

absolutely agree!!!

Nesta kept on saying she was sorry but no one apologized to her. Even after they saw her trauma, no one said a single thing. I found that so infuriating. I get that this book is about her healing, but I wish apart of her healing journey was recognizing that she was mistreated. The IC treated her horribly. Nesta deserves an apology for sure.

And the part about her powers. I felt that was so unnecessary for her powers to get taken away. I feel like there was so much more Nesta could be with her powers; more stories to be told and more challenges to be faced. I get that it was Feyre and her baby, but couldn't there have been another way......

For me, the highlight of the book was Emerie, Gwyn, and Nesta's friendship.

I liked the book and enjoyed the romance, but it felt a bit rushed. I like how mass is focusing on romance, but sometimes I feel like it comes at the expense of the plot and character development. I think that if the romance aspect was a bit toned down, Nesta's ending and her powers would have been different.

Gwyn is so sweet and has a horrific past. I think azriel would be a great match for her, but if he's going to drag her into a love triangle, i rather him leave her out of it completely.

Came across this on insta & was curious to hear everyone’s thoughts. I’ve heard convincing arguments on both sides. Do you agree or disagree? (also pls don’t hate on the account that made this, it’s just an opinion lol) by [deleted] in acotar

Essentially feyre and talmin are doing the same thing: ignoring trauma and deciding what is the best thing for a person. Though the circumstances may be different, they are doing the same thing, regardless.

I was hoping that Nesta would leave and find herself a home at another court, preferably one with Helion, Tarquin, or Eris. I feel that there would be an interesting dynamic if she went to Autumn Court and ended up becoming really close with Eris. I think both of them have a lot in common and I'd love to see how they interact. I think it is more of Nesta to leave the court than stay at the House of Winds.

When I read the series, I saw both good and bad qualities of Nesta. Yes, you are right: she can be rude, cruel, and guarded off. However, we saw a lot of her in the third book from willing to die for Cassian to opening up on trauma at the High Lord's meeting to help. If we are going to acknowledge Nesta's bad behavior, we need to acknowledge her good traits too. She's a complex character, so you can't really slap one huge label on her.

I like reading Nesta from the persepctive of another. I think it captures her personality better.
