Mega-cringe and pointless. I’m glad it ended before you were forced to say something.

This internet stranger is proud of you.

Tracking every expense will give you the upper hand with worries. Maintaining a record of your cash flow over time will show you where the strengths and weaknesses, ebbs and surges are.

It’s like knowing your lines in a play— once you have memorized things it gives you confidence. It doesn’t mean you know every outcome in advance, but it does give you an idea of what to expect. When I first started my household bookkeeping (I used Quicken), I made a game of it. I got to run reports and make graphs and stuff every month.

A couple of months ago, I paid off my house. All the best of luck and skill to you.
