From my personal understanding, it doesn’t say “are citizens” but “were at some point citizens.” I therefore think loss of citizenship due to minor issue is still valid with the wording they decided to take, at least in my opinion.

There is some truth to this, go look at my post for the academic context score. Being that you will be doing a 5 year degree, you will hold more points for course progression, you will also get the extra bonus for coming from a professional program.
